Working too much overtime

Working too much overtime can only result in the following:

  • burnout and impaired mental and physical health
  • the probability that you will be less, instead of more valued, because you will be considered a weakling who does not have the skills to find something better
  • missed precious moments with family and friends

Then why are there still those who work such long hours?

The future is what you make it. Remember that when you work your overtime.

Simple. Redefine the work week so that there is no such thing.
EEI failed.
Let's just not give it a name this time.
Also -- let's have all management call their direct reports every week and report person by person, day by day, why they were not able to generate 46 hours of billable charges.

Sometimes it not your choice. Cedar Creek is under mandatory 25% per week for the next 3 weeks. Definitely not something that most employees enjoy being forced into overtime or be written up.

Don't do it if you don't want to.

You need to maintain your EEI levels.

Make sure you discuss current required minimum and your personal commitment to the goal with your manager and HR generalist.

Don’t worry about federal or state regulations regarding unpaid labor, they are only guidelines.;44

Aero Engineering wants everyone to work 46 hours a week until the end of the year. Just last week it was 44.
