Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

All those reorgs

Structure and flow of a business need to evolve and change over time. However, even the mention of the word "reorganization" sickens me in this company. Why do reorgs mostly fail here?

How is it that a company that fails at everything is still in business? Seriously, they take out loans to a pay a dividend on a stock that not worth a toothpick. I pulled that cr-p out of my 401k years ago.

Why do AT&T have such lousy workers?

T thinks change represents progress and it resets the clock on serial bad decisions. The problem is, the markets see T for what it is….a company that makes very bad decisions and has no clear direction or viable business plan. The annuity it has is eroding and the investment in the business is shrinking. The only hope is a complete breakup and focus on the only real revenue generating product…mobility. Unfortunately, leadership believes it can be more…

Reorgs are just ATT appearing to be doing something about their lackluster performance! They can restructure the company all they want, but at the end of the day, the leadership is still the same! If this was a major league baseball team, the General manager and team manager would have both been fired years ago! Instead, T rewards its management for its failures. This is a very hard pill to swallow. I'm just gonna milk this cow for as long as T is willing to allow me to do so! Money for nothing and my gas for free!

Reorgs are what keeps all those layers (Director and above) busy. Without them, what would they actually be doing?

Reorgs fail here simply because there are too many of them, and every time you do one you will find yourself in the "...so and so doesn't do that anymore" scenario. Which ki--s progress on important projects.

Reorg after reorg, has any reorg this company ever completed had any positive impact to the company? I don't believe so.
