Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Very little work???

I find it very interesting that many here write that they have very little work to do. On my team, we are all more than overwhelmed. It looks like the distribution of work is not good.

The busiest groups are billing and collections because T has no idea how to generate a correct bill.

Just heard today that there is more work coming down the pike for technicians in OOR. The problem is that they also said there is a hiring freeze in effect, so a lot of the work will have to be outsourced for now. Quite possibly for the rest of the year things will be slow until the end of the first quarter. The good thing is there will be no layoffs or at least none anticipated at this time.

Some of those groups that are not busy, you would not want to distribute work to. There is a reason they are not busy.

I would agree. I’ve been swamped for as long as I can remember. This idea that departments having very little work is very disturbing. Although, the company is so big that is part of the overall issue.
