Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Doing tasks not specifically outlined in my job description

I'm required to perform job duties not listed on my job description. I have nothing against it, in fact, I think it is good, however, not in the way that Honeywell does it. I didn't have any proper training to do that, but my boss expects me to do it without any mistakes, that is, that everything be perfect.

Anyone else in a similar situation? I really don't know what to do, except to start looking for another job.

People fire or quit. Honeywell is on a hiring freeze. Everyone else picks up the slack without picking up the pay...

"specifically outlined in my job description"? In my 37 years of working for companies that ended up being part of Honeywell, I don't remember ever having a detailed or all inclusive job description. We used to joke "that's not my job" but we went ahead and did what had to be done. You don't know what to do? Do what is asked of you.

The issue is, you have to do the job of two, without the compensation…HON let’s someone go, gives you the work, and then enjoy one less person to pay…as long as employees do it, things will get leaner

Right now the most important training is Accelerator. You know, the training that will solve all things.

On a serious note, for all the talk about training at Hon, so many teams just don't have great documentation so everyone learns on their own.

Rinse and repeat...

Especially with the turnover.
