Olathe Aerospace

Are they closing the Olathe Aerospace facility and laying off yet? When will leadership leave for their new position?

That explains why the SAP Guru left a month ago to the Clearwater facility.

It was like that when the City of Olathe owned the Building back in 1998 to (2004?) In (2004?) Honeywell bought the Building to reward to Hourly Employees (Lawrence) elimination of the CWA union.

I thought Honeywell had a contract with the city of Olathe and it had to be approved for any sale or site closure?

No, it can't be confirmed. Anyone with knowledge would have had to sign a NDA. If your not sure if the rumors or opinions posted here are not true, do your own research. What new products are being developed at Olathe? The products that are currently in production are how old? What Acquisitions has Honeywell made to supplant the work that is performed in Olathe? The Repair and Overhaul work can be done where? If it was moved to Olathe, can it be moved anywhere? How much empty space does the facility have? What are the sites Utilization and Productivity numbers? This data should tell you the reality of the situation that Cedar Creek finds itself in. SK didn't leave because things are getting better, now did he? Jump before you are pushed, unless you have a parachute that can support you!

Cap'n Ahab SK's move is well timed & his replacement will be the person to transition/close Aero Olathe. A team was also measuring the exterior of the building & property last week using precise GPS surveying equipment.

With both Panasonic and Garmin expanding rapidly in the KC area, it’s only a matter of time before the close Olathe and move it to Phoenix and Penang.

SK may be leaving, again, but with the recession kicking in and Panasonic moving in, Olathe is doomed.

SK is out of here. Let the employees breathe again. Time for a new Director with a positive attitude that will encourage employees to grow and make positive changes. Make Cedar Creek Great Again!
