Saying that what is filtering down is an early retirement package of up to 6 months pay.

Since 2020, SBC now T, has solicited for volunteers for the previous 'offers' to be leave the business. Based on what I've seen in IT, it's been 50/50, the ability to volunteer.
CSO in the past, seems to have mostly has missed out on offers and the opportunity to volunteer to leave the business.
Usually there is a cap on how many can volunteer, but there has been at least one occasion that they had no caps, or the caps were extremely high, to the point the department had to get employees from other departments reassign to their department.
Other parts of the business may have handled them the same or different.
Southwest where, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona or southern Cal? Can’t seem to get a straight answer on here because it’s BS! Or, someone is afraid they’ll be discovered on here...lol!
The southwest region is Tx,Mo,Ark,Ks,Ok, I trust this site as much as a taco bell fa-t. Bet your uid ends with a letter.
business cases are due back to HR by Mid-August to get approved and processed. Expected notification date will be mid to late September, off books by early Oct. is what I have been informed. No packages being offered and 2 weeks notice.
T provides more services than Verizon, therefore, it needs more employees than Verizon. You can't compare the two! T has far more technicians employed than Verizon by far! T couldn't afford to look like Verizon unless it wants to our source a large chunk of work and it's clearly not doing that within the union ranks. It seems to be keeping a large majority of the technician work in-house for its own employees to do.
As near as I can figure, T needs to layoff 50K. That would bring us close to Verizons headcount.
Just tell your boss where to get off!
Management Only - All business units impacted wireline/wireless- Surplus business cases are due back to HR by Mid-August to get approved and processed. Expected notification date will be mid to late September, off books by EOY. No details on % or numbers that will be impacted. Looks like T is pulling the get quick cash lever again (which is not sustainable).
In the management world, the boss ask for volunteers usually.
Fake news people…..
I put in for a VSP a couple months ago. I have not heard of anybody being asked to leave in central texas.

Lump sums will drastically continue to erode based on the interest rates. 2021 was the time to leave if you were pension eligible...now it's too late.
There is a planned severance reduction given the recent cash flow issues. Package deals are off the table. Strap in for a bumpy ride.
I think most people will take annuity, not lump sum. So far, everyone I asked would take annuity. Upper management is now counting how many will take advantage of last year's interest rate and leave by the end of the year. And if there aren't enough, then they may execute layoffs.
Last week they called our 3 senior techs to see if they planned to retire by EOY 22. no offer just asking in Southwest...
Once again, State, Org and job title??? Somebody is supposedly receiving a notice, but nobody seems to know any of this information...how strange is that! Go figure!!! Apparently, you know not what you speak of!
"I don't believe this, never heard of management asking for volunteers! Usually, the notifications are sent out, period, the end! If this is true and T offers those who volunteer, then this is being very generous on their part! Unless you hear which org, which job titles and which state, then don''t believe the OP!"
Wrong. They always ask for volunteers to leave before a layoff. You have zero idea what you speak of.

There won’t be any ‘ packages or incentives just severance per said contract if you’re lucky. Same goes for management as stated in HR One Stop
What organization?
Seems too good to be true.
Please elaborate: what state / area , job titles etc…
What organization? My group just asked if anyone would leave by Nov 30 to take advantage of last year's interest rate for lump sum. Doesn't sound it would come with an up to 6 months pay package.
How about a real package with years added to service and age. Let’s go with 3 & 3 and I’m out.
Sweet, I'll take it.
