Why is the site quality team at Honeywell so bad? They seem to be the only group that gets away with doing absolutely nothing, but audits. Is that their entire job? If so, sign me up!

I’m not making this up. The old days. When they enforce the processes on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift. We could only make a certain amount of parts.

Now these brand new young people come around. They don’t follow processes or do one part at a time. Think about this. If you don’t follow anything, you’ll be able to produce record amount of parts. If you never get in trouble for not doing it right, you continue to streamline everything and skip steps just to make more parts.

People in my place to get promoted by the producing more parts. Bonuses are also paid. Then they require mass overtime to rework the parts which don’t work and make up for scrap parts. They’ve also found a way to illuminate scrap by changing of criteria. So parts that used to not pass, now can pass. Recall! Recall!

Machines are never set up right. Now we have a record amount of rework and scrap. Here’s what really funny. As long as you produce parts in record volume.. Even if you don’t follow anything. You will never get discipline or fired. End results you continually to cut corners.

The double the amount parts we used to make. They can do this because they’re not following anything anymore. It was impossible in the old days to create this many parts. Proves to me. They no longer care about quality. In my division I work at. We are getting parts back from our customers. Which basically is a recall. I’m definitely finding a new job.

These millennium generations and Boston scientific employees. They don’t follow anything or listen to old timers. They just push parts. You wounded why Boston scientific had so many recalls and layoffs. Now my plant has the same philosophy. They just kept hiring them. Definitely getting out of here because I can see what’s happening. The cost of doing business is totally out of control.

I heard we’re not getting any orders anymore. So they have to relocate us, in order to show that they’re still making profits.

Every plant that Ally signal has spin off or sold has gone out of business. No qualified people, push parts, no quality, and they drink plenty of Kool-Aid.

Easiest thing in the world to get. 95% first pass yield.
I literally heard the former CEO "counsel" a director in penang when an improvement team bragged about getting to 85% yield. They had trippled yield but big D wanted none of that.
The real solution was stop looking. Abandon stress testing and ship ship ship.
They broke up and them laid off those pesky reliability people who kept demanding expensive screening. Fast forward a few years and major primes are having trouble with parts.

Product problems are like covid... dont exist unless you take a test.
Quality isnt a problem unless you have people looking.
Better yet... outsource the whole deal and make it their problem.

Minneapolis location got rid of all the engineers. Who knew anything about the product.

Young people complained about all the old people slowing down the line. Who actually had knowledge of how the process should work. They streamlined every process and don’t bother follow them anymore.

Company start hiring people who only been with the company for less than a year, as group leaders supervisors and higher up management. They hired all their friends and they never enforce anything on the line. They push parts like never before and process are not be followed. Yes! Now they can build things super fast as they streamline everything and illuminate important processes. Young people have no idea why these things were put in the first place.

They created environment we’re pushing parts will get your awarded. Yet then that’s right enough to see the big picture.

The engineers that are new. Just for the new young people because they have no mentors to tell them that what they’re doing is full of cr-p. Now the company can use this as a tool. In order to state that the cost of doing business in your region is out of control. The cost of doing business name your state. He has made a very difficult decision of relocating due to the cost and stiff competition.

So this is why the company has allowed this practice to take place. Who cares if nobody is qualified or has any knowledge. I’ve been built scrap and rework parts . And result cost of doing business in your area justifies the move to lower cost region.

So when you have a all hands on meeting, and they say the word the cost of doing business in your state. Results in them happened to relocate. I’d like to think about what I just stated and why it was a really nice idea for them to cut all these people. Now they got the perfect excuse the move.

Just may be, maybe World View sat would not have failed if Glendale space not fa---d with manufacturing process of soldering chips to PWBS . QA had to sign-off on that when the change was made. We had 3 waves of layoffs in 2016 and then in 2018 World View sat failed .

I work in Aero as a manufacturing process engineer and work with the quality assurance group during internal quality and external FAA audits at my site.
Any site that has anything to do with aircraft parts is required by the FAA's certificate management process to have ongoing internal quality system audits to assure compliance with applicable regulations and the procedures established to meet these regulations.
These audits are a necessary process and are required by the FAA to stay in business.
I don't know how it works in the non-Aero businesses.

Quality is something that is built in. The Quality Dept was the first dept to be stripped down to the bone when Coat was CEO from 2000 onward. There used to be 50 to 100 people devoted to quality at my center of the US site, circa 2000. When I left in 2018, I think there were 6 or 7 counting the Supervisor and the Site Lead. They wanted to spend that money elsewhere. This was the plan all along and its why the Honeywell CEO Bonsic'ore was toppled by Bossily after he left had left the position in 1999. The names have been misspelled on purpose.

Because the ALT forced layoffs in Quality for years (like everywhere else), and good people retired or quit. There aren't enough people to do the job anymore, and the top just wants parts out the door with no interference. Lots of stories and buried bodies...
