Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Leadership

Hello,

Everyone knows the world sucks right now, we are not oblivious. We all see the rising gas prices, food prices, declining market, etc. how about you stop BSing the people? This is to the top top.

How about instead of sugar coating it, ignoring it or claiming “everything is great” when it’s not, you just be real with everyone.

The least you guys can do is make our miserable, factory, work lives a little bit more enjoyable while we are here.

Thanks.

Bosses Offer Midyear Raises to Retain Employees as Inflation Takes Toll.

To address inflation and to retain workers in what many executives say remains a tough labor market, some large employers are raising salaries or doling out special bonuses. Exxon Mobil Corp. gave U.S. employees a one-time payment in June equivalent to 3% of their salaries. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP says it will hand out raises in July to reflect its performance in its fiscal year that just ended. Microsoft Corp. told employees this spring it planned to nearly double its global budget for merit-based raises.

Overall, companies have on average increased base pay in the U.S. by 4.8% so far in 2022, and about a third of employers are considering or planning midyear raises, according to a survey of more than 300 large employers conducted in May by Pearl Meyer, a compensation advisory firm.

No Sugar coating.

  • There are 2 planned RIF's regardless of how HON is doing
  • Restructuring costs are on the books to purge staff by June 30th and December 31st
  • Performance does not matter, key US employees over 50 are 1st to minimize costs
  • Business performance is secondary as compared to converting cash to executive compensation
  • Off shoring direct and indirect labor cost to low-cost regions is priority 1

Maybe they will read it, maybe they won’t, but it’s a start.

We need to take care of each other better, we need to be a team again. We need to be strong and invest in the people again.

I mean… Idk about all of that political cr-p, but… some more pizza parties, family events, team events, etc. would be nice. Something enjoyable.

The only problem is that they need to understand they will lose revenue over it.

Don’t give people fun and force them to work for it.

Give them fun and let them work hard for you because they love working for you.

It’s not hard.
