If I go to work for a competitor, am I going to be walked out before the 2 week resignation period is over. Some companies will walk you out as soon as you resign and notify them that you are going to work for a competitor (they still pay you for the 2 weeks). Is this applicable to AT&T? Or, are they going to keep me working full 2 weeks to cover my resignation period.

The last time I left I told them I was going to a competitor and as I hoped they made me leave immediately. We took them public, got big options and then a company acquired it with big offer. I took a job at BellSouth
It depends on the job. If you're a tech, naw. However, if you're in marketing and privy to a new advertising campaign then maybe. Design of new products and services, maybe.
I have seen a L2 get walked out back in the day. if you want to stay and work for 2 weeks, don't tell them were you are going. If you tell your boss, he could walk you out. Its a manager decision.
The point is for OP to get walked out but still get paid for 2 weeks. Yes! you will get walked out if you show management an offer letter from a competitor.
Unless you're an VP or higher, they don't much care.

Most states have at will employment, you don’t need to disclose why you’re quiting or going to a competition. Just as the company can let you go any time. Just tell them you signed a NDA with new employer and can’t say anything for one year.
You're not obligated to disclose any future job prospects with anyone in ATT! Why would you mention a word when nobody cares one way or another? Just put in your 2 week notice and keep your personal information to yourself from that point on!

Why the heck would you tell them you are going to a competitor?? Just give 2 weeks notice. If you're looking for "please don't go" .. it ain't going to happen.

I wouldn’t provide any information. You’re providing a notice, that’s all you need to provide.
Yea they will walk you out, and might not pay you for two weeks. All depends how they feel that day.
