Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

There are plenty of jobs

Citi is currently hiring in huge numbers as is Goldman Sachs. They are far from the only ones. I see people panicking for no good reason. If your skillset isn't rusty, then you have nothing to worry about. All you have to do is do a couple of searches and you'll know I'm right.

That’s AMERICAN capitalism with corporate greed out of control. In other civilized countries, they actually take care of their employees.

We are a young country with lots to learn, and a lot of people who haven’t learned the lessons of our past yet, and don’t care to.

@vye+1hnHMATL, but do you email these gigantic files to colleagues repeatedly, including to those on your own team when could’ve just saved files to a shared drive and linked to them? Fun times!!

You can't work for Citi unless you agree to turn over all control of your personal medical decisions to the company first. No thanks.

Make sure to apply formatting down the entire column and across the entire row. Do not limit yourself to formatting and highlighting only the cells that contain data.

@vye+1hnHMATL Don’t forget your pivot charts and use the slicer! Really bulks up those files and slows everything down!

The only topper to that is when you use Tableau data as the source of your pivot laden brick of a file!

No one treats their employees better than Wells Fargo.

I'm also great at producing 100MB excel files, because who doesn't like a good pivot table.

Reduction in force happens in capitalism. If you don’t sit on your hands and just vent on this board without applying for jobs, you’ll be fine.

I got laid off from Wells and am now at Citi. It's a ball of confusion, but hey, come on over. Always hiring.

Age has nothing to do with it, if your skills are modern and are in demand, you will get opportunities.
On the other hand, if your only skill is being a PowerPoint warrior, you will have trouble at any age

Also, Agile is valuable to other firms. If you have been a part of a successful Agile team, that makes you more valuable. Clean up that CV and get on LinkedIn - I promise there are two jobs for every capable person who wants one. Negotiate!
