Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How long will Charlie remain as CEO?

Enough time has passed and he hasn’t accomplished anything. That’s obvious. I’m sure that the board is also aware that during his tenure no new value has been created nor did the company grow. Is it possible that some alternative solutions for the company CEO are debated as we speak?

Charlie has hired an army of fall guys to protect his a-s. We all need to leave cuz there are not enough deck chairs. Queue the music.

GET OUT! Charlie Scharf is Charlie Sheen in the 80’s movie where he is there to liquidate the airline and fu-k it in the a-s while loyal employees hang on to their hopes. GET OUT guys! Get out and let it burn. There are so many opportunities in the real world. JUST DO IT!!!

@yiq+1hl8gD9v Which profitable businesses are those? Last I checked WFAM and CTS weren’t exactly breadwinners. Plenty of things to hate on Chuck for, but selling off non-core businesses that don’t fit our long term strategy, while under an asset cap probably not in my top 10.

As it has been said numerous times in the past. Chuckles was brought in to cut costs (layoffs don't ya know) and more importantly, NO ONE, of any substance at the highest level of the financial industry wanted the damn job.

JPM absorbing Wells I believe would encounter a challenge. Too large of an entity.

Charlie is executing a hostile take-over from within. He has already sold off some of the most profitable businesses ("gains" look good on balance sheet) and will sell off what's left at bargain-basement prices.

Remember folks, Chuckles was the bottom of the barrel option BECAUSE NO OTHER EXECUTIVE WOULD TOUCH THIS CESSPOOL OF A COMPANY. As a result, we're stuck with 2nd-3rd string losers from other cesspools. All Schart knows how to do is destroy (look at Visa and BNY).

Replacing a clueless leader in a corrupt and backward bank will fix nothing. Better to hope of winning some lottery.

Don’t worry about Charlie career. Take control of your career. Find another job if you are unhappy

It doesn't matter. When he leaves, someone else just like him will come in.

There will be no noticable change/improvement from the employee perspective.

It's weird that people keep asking this question. What are you hoping for with a different CEO? Keep in mind what the CEO's actual job is, not what an employee thinks it should be.

I'm not defending him or any other exec. I just don't get what exactly people are hoping for with a different CEO.

A huge pay raise? Better working conditions? Why? How would those things make the board happy? Seems like it would make them unhappy, given the increased expenses.

Working at WF just is what it is. There's nothing markedly better or worse coming down the pike.

Among other things, one's experience working here is a reminder about life's compromises when we choose to be someone else's employees instead of carving out our own space in this world.

He's not going anywhere. I'm becoming more and more convinced by letting go so many quality managers he's setting up WF to fail so that he, his buddies and the remains of WF will become parts of JP Morgan. There's no way any competent manager with a long term view would do what he's doing.

Maybe they will hire Jane Fraser away from Citi, where she has done nothing but drive the stock price down?
