Bala Subamanium was just

appointed to Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Digital Officer for UPS. I hope he has T provide services for UPS which would mean lots of new work!

Good luck with that UPS. I feel bad for all the UPS employees that are under him that will now get passed over for every promotion as he brings in outside “talent” to replace them. After all, “they (current employees) don’t know what they are doing and don’t contribute significantly to the bottom line,” - Current Bala crony. Meanwhile said terrible seasoned employees are keeping the ship afloat despite all the bad leadership decisions and know nothing external “talent.”

Executive careers are base on their creative account of success, how they overcome perceived obstacles, single handily delivered results, and promised ability to repeat the feat on demand. As you can see, doing the actual work simply doesn't mean anything, so long as one can hype up the narrative. Perception, not reality.

T has been UPS preferred telecom provider for several years. This appointment at UPS won't generate much if any new business for T.

"In this new role, Bala will be responsible for the overall strategy, design, development and execution of UPS’s technology, industrial engineering and digital transformation functions and will be a key driver in growing the business."

Now that is funny.
