Apparently there were 52 people given 60 day notices yesterday between Ankeny, downtown, and West Des Moines locations. Not huge numbers, but that brings the total for the last 30 days to 200 people for the state.

It Was 111 closer, funders and UW in Portland, ORE were laid off, as usual no hard numbers allowed to be viewed on final call, had two hours to exit the system.
I'm in DSM and have applied internally to a couple dev positions. One listed DSM the other did not, wasn't an issue. On third round of interview with the "not" position. Tech is pretty well protected from any layoffs, especially if you're a developer. We are so behind on tech (as you all know) that Wells can't afford to lose anymore. Why do you think they softened RTO specifically for tech? Agile/Scrum team? Then you probably come into the office 1-2 times per month.
A former so called leader of the country showed a young generation to be a character rather than show character. There’s your answer.
Amazing that WF employees in different cities attack each other instead of supporting each other when layoffs come.

@1fgb+1hX11jaV DSM workers have the ability to make decisions, unlike the condescending pricks who log on (notice I didn't say work) from Charlotte. DSM workers would be even more productive if they didn't have to correct all of the sc--w-ups from the East. Minneapolis and DSM are the reason CSBB has any sort if efficiency.
DSM workers are garbage. Mostly lifers who have no where else to go so they only leave when laid off. Way too much drama and entitlement with that site.
Considering the fact that there are only 300 people in the entire state of Iowa makes that 200 layed off a point of significance.
A competent leader would not require /support this sh!t location strategy.
In reality, the location strategy is focused on India/Pillipines where working for peanuts is accepted.

In June that guy in charge said he may reduce the mortgage business. Part of the plan in motion maybe.
There are different hubs for different functions/LOB. One can be exiting DSM while another has it listed as a grow site.
Minneapolis? Didn't that city just burn to ash 2 years ago because a felon overdosed while being arrested? No serious person can think any corporation is moving to a POS like that.
Actually we are hiring a huge amount of sr tech people on my team in des moines right now... you must just be some call center cloud with strange fantasies. 10,000 Indiana can't do the amount if tech work 500 engineers in iowa can. That's simply a fact
It’s true about Des Moines in terms of location strategy. The majority of the jobs in DSM are clerical or ops in nature. Big shift to India. Ever notice how the higher paid postings never say DSM? Writing is on the wall.
I call BS there are over 13k employees in the des moines area. They aren't moving all of that to Charlotte and Minneapolis.

All jobs in Des Moines are being moved within the next 5 years. It is part of Well's strategy to location functions in Minneapolis and Charlotte.
What about Ft Mill, were they impacted?
A lot of mortgage stuff in Des Moines.
I'm afraid these jobs will never come back in the US.
