Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T-Mobile is not much better off

Everybody is on about T-Mobile doing so much better than us but look at their board - their employees are just as miserable as we are. They are also having major layoffs right now despite the "stellar" results, as some are calling them. Stop glorifying a place that treats its employees like trash just like AT&T does. They got lucky. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

T-Mobile isn’t unionized and believe the wireless portion of Verizon isn’t either. Different hoops to jump through. Would be interesting to see the difference in the employee cost
equation.

ATT good quarter was all fraud...so many extra lines added people dont know about then cancel right away. Remember the DTV NOW debacle....well its now called the Esim add a line debacle. Or the add another line its cheaper. Stink said it himself gross adds up but profit down.

T-Mobile is having layoffs because they are adjusting due to business needs and amount of work they have.

All things the same huh….except the most important gauge of company health…
T Mobile stock close $143.06
AT&T $18.78
This says it ALL, even a first year business student would understand.

T-mobile had to layoff because they agreed to no rate increases for 3 years when they bought Sprint. They also have to reduce duplicate roles between Tmobile and Sprint.

Their success is that they actually achieved the efficiencies after the merger.

TMUS is very nimble. Sure the blog may indicate some level of discomfort, that's normal. All companies have low performers, it's quite normal to purge deadbeats from the payroll. T is way overstaffed, Stankey has decided that it's okay, so nothing changes. Stankey makes his job much more difficult than it should be, all he needs to do is follow TMUS's lead.

It’s the industry as a whole. Three major companies fighting every qtr for the same piece of pie.
ATT needs to continue down its current path and quit buying companies that don’t fit the direction we set out.

AT&T is on the right path with great quarterly results. Will have to adjust & right size the business to help control cost to improve cash. Pull all open job requestions (done), slow hiring (done), stop all travel approvals (done), initiate capital deferral for network build (done), if those levers don't work, cut headcount (pending).

AT&T had a good quarter. I hope that they can keep it going.
T-Mobile is the company to beat over the next few years.

Yeah, but they don't have "Pajama Party" Stink. And they quite enjoyed the $5B Ratty gave them.
