Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Market rivals

I received an offer from a direct competitor and since I was offered a higher pay, I am preparing to give notice. Does it seem to you that this company does not pay enough attention to what its competitors are doing? Consequently they lose to them their most skilled people.

OP, you’re not sharing enough details so I agree, this is false. Don’t know if the new job offer is like for like or a completely different job that warrants a salary increase based off the job function.

This is not the airport. No need to announce your departure.
AT&T welcomes it, and no one here cares.

Natural attrition game plan appears to be working. AT&T is in the cat bird seat not having to force folks out and pay severance. Love it with a plan comes together.

T no longer offers anything but a sad state of affairs. Two years until I can pull that pension and accept the offers I’m already receiving.
I had two co-workers leave this year and immediately have multiple offers. Both said their salary increase by more than 25k.
T is the broke relative that always asks to borrow money because this time they will get their financial house in order. They never do because they make the same mistakes over and over.

I work as a SAL in global business sales. It seems like every other week one of my peers or a manager or even directors are going over to competitors like Verizon or partner companies like Microsoft, RingCentral, Zscaler, Fortinet making way more!

Oh no, AT&T lost you. No wonder the stock was down.

If the debacle of the past four years is what AT&T's best employees could do, it's ok to lose them.

I think you are lying, this is not the first time that line has been used in this board.

T will reap what they sew. Not likely T will be in business 10 years from now.

I agree. The issue is that today the workforce no longer received a pension. Those employees who are pension eligible may put up with lower pay and other corporate bs. An employee not receiving a pension should be looking for the employee with the best pay, benefits and culture.
T will be spending the next decade doing the same dance they are doing now to right the ship. After debt is laid down, the next move is to buy back shares. They need to buy back a couple of billion shares to get in line
with Verizon.

Oh the HR Ratbert pays big bucks to consultants to make sure Toxic-T pay is competitively... LOW.

She knows it, but T would rather everyone leave. They love no cost employee wackings.
