We used to always have Go Texan Day in Houston. There would be free bbq for all the employees, horses and whatnot, and a great speech from a top executive. I heard they were looking into bringing it back this year and using the YMCA weedlot for it. Any details or rumors? It sure was a great event.

From my experience, GTD was just an excuse for admins to wear a gaudy cowboy hat and cowboy boots, everyone else ignored the circus.
If they don’t bring back GTD this year I’m outta here! And I mean it this time.
Because large gatherings of maskless people while Covid is still rampant
Go Texan was so fun, positive and uplifting. Why not?
Not significantly different than the Calgary Stampede activities. If it brings staff together and is enjoyable event—- why not?
Go Texan Day was goofy 20 years ago. Still is. Don't know what people are trying to prove as an urban cowboy.
Yee Hah! Serve up the BBQ. Yum.
I'm pretty sure the equal opportunity issue has long been solved, @kir. Now whether you take advantage of that opportunity or skirt that opportunity is all on you. Unfortunately that's what the misfits are demanding now since they can't compete on level ground. Equal outcome. Please try to keep up.
Who cares about Texan Day. Much bigger issues to address to create a society where everyone has an equal opportunity. USA is bigger than Texas
who cares? you need more work
No one cares about cowboy dress up day.
Everyone loved dressing in "cowboy drag" on GTD!
