3rd Anniversary

Today is the third anniversary of the day my cowardly market manager finally called me to do my exit paperwork. The only problem is that my last day as an employee was actually 3 years ago yesterday. This be--h was so arrogant as to think she could still call the shots when I no longer worked for her. She had all day long the day before, or the day before that, or the day before that, to do said paperwork. I was on a long motorcycle trip that I had been forced to cancel about 3 weeks earlier because the same be--h was negligent in her duties and failed to schedule enough help to cover a vacation that had been approved 10 months earlier. I came in and covered her negligence and was forced to rearrange my trip. Though it was only about noon, I pulled up at a bar, ordered a beer, and answered her repeated texts and missed phone calls with a text message that I didn't have time for her.

Our third anniversary. I would have gladly finished my career there and served with the same loyalty I had given the company for years. She chose another path. Now she has 3 job openings that she can't fill. They've been listed on Indeed for more than 30 days. People in my role are comprised of a close-knit community. Everybody knows everybody or at least knows somebody who knows somebody. I work with many interns and students in my current position and I made damn sure that each and every one of them knows how Sam's Club treats their people. And the market manager can't seem to fill those 3 positions. Weird.

Happy Anniversary. I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am!

@mrm

I was in management. Pharmacy manager to be specific. We were allowed to put in for PTO up to 1 year in advance. First come first served, or so we were told. There were only so many people available to cover a shift so this was the only fair way to handle it. I'm not sure if that is still the case, but that was the way it was done as of 3 years ago.

Good for you! There are so many places that appreciate the people that work with them. This place is not one of them. The reactions you got on this post shows their mentality.

Good for you. Some managers think they are gods. We have a manager who said she was the best manager this store had had for years. What an ego!

Vacations can only be put in 6 months before vacation so how did your vacation get approved 10 months before lol.
