8 DTV employees surplused in Operations and off payroll 7/29.
Yea I know this is a T board but T owns 70% of DTV and is pertinent information for understanding the climate approaching us fast and hard. 12 months have past and TPG will no longer be quiet regarding their investment.
I work from home in retention and I can tell you that our job is HARD right now. But we’re trying hard to save the customers that keep people employed. Please don’t refer to us as “muppets”
65 employees were laid of managers no warning
So, the number is insignificant in the view of T. The spin-off company of DTV is super small. And just this morning 4 management at the call center level that I know were surplussed WITHOUT any warning or indication from their leadership. Just called in and told this morning. I left T willingly to come back to DTV. I also know it will likely be short term bc this is the beginning of the end. TPG wanted 3 yrs to make DTV somewhat profitable after AT&T wrecked it. Get ready bc this wave of surplus is not going to stop in the next few years. It’s T Lite.

For real? I ask because us DTV peeps are daily bombarded with posts asking us to recommend new hires as we have a immense and immediate need for more Work From Home Muppets to posts selfies and pictures of their dog on Workplace.

I’m sure that Direct TV isn’t exactly happy with AT&T destroying their company. They had incredible customer service until we bought them. I wish them well.

Are you somehow trying to imply that T doesn't own any DTV shares?
T doesnt own any of direcTV. T Shareholders as of the close date own 70% of directv stock.
T still owns 70% of Directv, so this is relevant to ATT! That’s a pretty insignificant number of employees impacted, almost negligible, unless you’re one of the eight!
Only 8 were impacted? This seems really low. Were other departments impacted?
JS shared on a recent Town Hall Q&A that T get $1B annually from DTV. Wonder how DTV’s health will impact.
