Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Leaving because Full time 34 hours

I been a long time loyal employee but my hours have been cut to full time 34 hours it’s a shame because I have been a hard working dedicated employee and I love my team and the district managers and my manager but I have to support my family . I finally have a job interview in one week I’ll miss everyone

I would use that extra time off to spend with family it’s summer every job cuts in the summer months just be grateful you have a job and enjoy the extra hours off away from that place

Pick up a part time job 8 hours a week, keep the Sam's pay and benefits.

Full and Part time are just status used to determine your benefit levels.

The average for Full time is considered at 32 hours but is not a hard set number. An employer can set it to lower hours which Walmart Inc did along time ago and then forehead slapped themselves when they realized Walmart Inc made it easy for associates to demand to be Full time at 16 hours. In other words associates could work 2 days and have 5 days off.

They cant cut to 34 for full time. That argument was settled 15 years ago. This isn't a company directive. The manager is doing this on his own. I say this because if one person is cut to 34, then all full time has to be cut to 34. No exceptions. Its considered a type of discrimination and Sams got caught before. I would call the labor board or Attorney General of your state. They will know whats going on and what to do.
