I used to be to be anti-union then in 2008-2010 after losing my job and struggling for a couple years I started as a prem tech. The techs voted to go union about the time I started. It took about 1.5 years for them to work out the contract, but I can tell you it made a big difference when the contract went into effect. The company was taking a big time advantage of the bad economy at that time. They were paying horrible wages and were firing people for ridiculous reasons. I lean conservative, but the truth is America has worked so well because we had a balance of left and right working together. America has shifted too far out of balance with the decrease in unions since the 1980's. The power needs to come back to the people a little and that is what you are seeing with the unions now. Amazon starting to go union is a big deal. I moved into management now, but still believe the union needs stay strong. Yes there are some lazy people that take advantage of the union, but that happens in management too.
