Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Yes, it is the same in all of the Clubs

We have a skeleton crew at all times, no steel space what so ever and yet the trucks just keep on coming. We are at maximum capacity in the backroom and on the floor. Why would anyone run a business like this? Not to mention our pay rates not keeping up with inflation and now they have made it so that we will only get a mere pittance of a Sam's Share if any at all. It is a dangerous and very stressful place to work as a backroom associate. I am a long termer but the newbies are getting hired in at more than what I making after 18 years. I can see why no one sticks around for very long and there is such a high turnover rate. Pathetic.

This deserved its own thread. It was posted by @shq+1h5uXWPr.

There is no way new hires make more than an 18 yr associate
Backroom starting pay is the lowest in the store at $15

The reason we’re so full is because they’re trying not to rent additional distribution space. Plus they lost a DC due to a fire. The clubs are the only place they can put it since we’re like mini-DCs.

The lack of staffing is truly out of everyone’s hands until the company changes the strategy and gets something like PTC again. Maybe a People Manager or something. A person that focused on it. Is there for new (and old) associates. It would probably help with some turnover since managers and team leads are busy.

Outside of that… inflation is out of everyone’s hands. If they raise the pay then somewhere something will get cut. SamShare for example. It would be the first thing to go. Retail is on thin margins. Yes we’re are a billion dollar company but if you do the math the take home is tiny.

I love when Sam's associates attack each other, don't you? Referring to "Post ID: @ofm+1h6zzJML"

Everyday it seems to get worse and worse. What is corporate thinking? Paying inexperienced people more than your long term experienced associates? Not fair and should not be happening. We are not able to provide legendary member service any longer. Very sad. I love my job but am wondering if it is worth it anymore. I watch my co-workers have melt downs everyday, it is sad.

You can see why no one sticks around yet you've been there 18 years
