Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Could it be worse?

Almost all the companies I applied to pay employees much more. Those that don't offer higher pay offer better benefits. I am so overwhelmed that neither mentally nor physically could I bear adding more to my plate.
Some people think that things will get worse here. I wonder, can it really get worse because it's already worse here than I could have ever imagined?

Yes, you could get promoted.

By worse they will just fire you (i.e. reduce head count, is the Karen way of putting it). If possible, do your 9-5 and no more because they don't care if you do or don't. If you miss a target, who cares. Just clock out and go do something you enjoy and when you're at work just watch the clock. There is zero reason to go above and beyond because they don't want you here, you cost them money. The instant they can outsource you, they will.

Keep applying. Something outside will come up. This is the worst company I've worked for but I've made it work for now as it currently suits me and when it doesn't, I'll leave as well (or get fired beforehand).

I swept floors in Glendale. And yes, it can always get worse. Time proves that fact over and over.

No, it won't happen again. What you is true - not sure about director level - but I know several techs at the time that moved to "maintenance ". They got back to being techs and saved their jobs.

These days would be to get rid of the headcount and hire new in the future if needed. They don't concern themselves about knowledge.

Yes it can. In the mid 80s after the space station was outsourced to russians they had directors sweeping floors. Can happen again.
