The only thing a union can guarantee is union dues. And The fat cats at the union will get rich. The union cannot guarantee your jobs — Research the Uaw and teamsters and see how many sites have closed at HON over the past 20 years. The union also can’t guarantee you better benefits - almost all hon union ees have the same medical and a lower 401k match than nonunion ees. Also research how many union leaders went to prison for stealing union member money.

A union can’t force a company to remain open but it at least gives us half a chance at fair wages and conditions etc.

I cannot believe people are brainwashed into thinking no union is better - then who the fu-k is there to help the worker?

Karen fail more and her friends? Yeah, she had your best interest at heart.

If Honeywell starts feeling pressure from the workers to form unions, its nobody's fault but the the stingy executives.

As I understand it, in Germany a corporation is required to have a member of the workforce on the board of directors. It sure be nice to have some representation on the board. Maybe to tame the extreme compensation of the other board members. Heck, I don't know how most of the board members got there, nor do I understand their contribution to Honeywell.

Can someone from a union shop comment on the pros and cons of a union?

Did being unionized help with the roof-top consolidations?

Thanks

If Honeywell and business is against Unions then it means it’s probably a good idea for all employees.

We should all be pushing for unions. Business has told us unions are bad…look how business treats us…and we accept it?

Go ahead. Unionize more sites. Maybe it will the one I'm at. That way the move to transition sites will pick up speed and I'll get a package.

Too many folks leaving on their own to expect a RIF. At least at my site.

Unions always make things worse. They lie and tell you they'll protect you and your job. You pay exorbitant union dues. And they still can't protect your job when it's eliminated by management. Just another racket that the common person gets to find. Skip that sewage. They can't do sh1t for you.

People actually believe companies spend this much time and money to “educate” employees about how bad unions are because it’s in the their employees “best interests”. Sure.

Lol not yet but I’m sure Honeywell will start reinforcing the mass brainwashing of all their employees here soon. I hope people are smart enough to see through Honeywell's propaganda but I doubt it, especially here in the South.
