For the B2B Sales I've heard that the SAL role is being eliminated/restructured and that we're moving away from MPLS as a product. Also even thought we're 5G focused the mobility organization is top-heavy and over-staffed and will be down-sized with more focus on 3rd party dealers , agents, and solution providers.

DEG (Digital Electronics Group) is fading fast. DSL, Hi Caps, SLC systems, 3X50, FMT-150, even UVerse is obsolete and sinking into the sunset. Not much to do except bandaids and removals.
MPLS is a dying technology....
T needs to simplify the portfolio. Mobility, last mile Mobility, fiber in territory. That’s it’s. The attempt to push security to business is laughable, dedicated networks are the dinosaur but leadership believes MPLS still has notable scale, sdWAN deployment is simply deplorable, these are just a few examples that demonstrate how far behind we are. It’s akin to selling hot tubs in the summer and wood stoves in the winter, our credibility is shot.
More and more customers are switching from MPLS to SD-WAN. Sure, some still uses MPLS for big or important sites . But that will change with more reliable Internet.
Feel that MPLS run its course and end is near.
If your department makes money and uses newer technology or ideas you are safer than one that uses the reverse. If you are in a growing market you may be ok, if a dying not so much. My department is backfilling losses, replacing legacy equipment and services with newer, and seems to get positive attention from Dallas.
MPLS isn’t going anywhere.
As long as Stankey is CEO the whole company is doomed. The walls are closing in on T.
