Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How do you feel about Stankey making $24.8 million in 2021?

Do you think he's added that kind of value?

Here's where the rub is. I don't have any issue with Stankey making money. He got to the position of power, he is going to make a lot of money. My issue is that they tried to pull a bait and switch with the big bonus (heavily taxed) and then bumped people down to the bottom of new pay bands. So, effectively, people moved backwards with a small merit that was based on the old pay band, and the coming merits will be pretty small. It's smoke and mirrors. Meanwhile, Stankey and the C-suite make huge amounts of money while the people doing the day to day work face surplus, silly geo zone explanations for poor pay in the light of cost of living, etc. Moving to a smaller company was the best move I made. Higher pay commensurate with the work and experience I have, still given decent options for health insurance, T-Mobile cell service that is the same regular cost as the cost with discount at AT&T. A whole lot more to lose by staying, so much more to gain by leaving. Get out now. Roll over your pension they no longer pay into to an IRA, transfer your 401K to minimize the amount of company stock you have to include, and live life free of the Death Star.

Stankey makes more than you. He is better looking than you. Life is tough.

The headline should say stockholders and employees are not happy about how fast executive pay is raising.

It sucks. How does one make so many mistakes and keep his job and salary and get a pay raise 5x what most of us received?

Ambivalent. I don’t concern myself with CEO compensation, as I’m not a CEO.

Of course most of that is in stock, and some bonus, so his money is on the performance of the stock price. Salary is only like 1 million. Compared to his peers he's prolly right where he needs to be.

His salary should be a negative $50,000,000,000 for 2022. Same goes for2023 and 2024, as his value to stockholders is way below zero.
