Is yelling at your employees and threatening their jobs a few times a day a standard practice that's encouraged here or did I just get unlucky when I joined? I've been here for eight months and I can safely say it's been the worst eight months of my working life. I'd have walked away already if I wasn't worried about how it'd look on my resume.

HCE Leadership Team was utterly abusive. I was threatened, bullied, etc. If you are in IT, companies don't care how long you stayed at the last position. Resume tip: Only put on your resume the years. Honeywell 2021-2022 you don't have to put months. I struggled to get 3 years in to vest for 401K match... but it was not worth it. This was the WORST place I worked in my entire career. Don't risk you physical and mental health over this place.
Aero is notorious for this. It will eventually be the downfall, pi-s poor leadership.
Good news is you don't have to take the abuse. Stay calm. Stay professional. Let them know what's up and role.
Honeywell, the Walmart of Aerospace companies.
@7qpp Huh?
They use this practice. In order to make people go faster and push more parts. They also use this tactic on office people. Office people always been threatened to be put on a PIP or Reduction in force.
When they start an investigation into the abuse. HR says that this is a form of harassment. Yet! They encourage this behavior. So they get rid of somebody, then hire their friends. Don’t tell me they don’t encourage the behavior. They’re looking for these type of personalities to push parts and drive matrix.
Bonuses and being self-centered. These other people run a company into the ground.
If you play the game correctly, you get what you need from this company. Then start looking for a new job. When find a new job, just don’t show up to work once you get your new job.
Just remember when they play these games with you, the false allegations or lies. The rest of the Kool-Aid people will agree with the company. So your career is basically dead, don’t expect anyone to hire within Honeywell.
Bottom line don’t put 100% into your work. Why would you put 100% into your work when they say you’re negative and you have a bad attitude towards a company. When they pull this cr-p on you.
Bottom line get your work experience. We’re all the overtime again. In order to achieve your objectives. Then start playing your games. Who cares what they do and put 100% effort in finding a new job.
Under MM it is! His calling card, and when you put a guy like this in his role and absolutely no one has respect for, this is what you get. Folks under him simply mimick his behavior because they are not willing to fight, challenge, or forego the salaries and bonuses that come with the role they've been given. Oddly enough, this is exactly what MM looks for.....people that will nod and agree.
How it would look on your resume? Imagine an abused wife telling her friend “what would my family think if I quit after only a few months?”
This is a joke right?!?!?!
Is there any other kind of management at Honeywell
It's been going on for more than 25 years. One ALT member yelled and threatened to fire everyone during a meeting because he didn't like the numbers. Saw it too many times with too many "leaders." The belittling and passive/aggressive behavior is also evident. Tier 1 and 2 behaving like a-holes is part of the Aero culture.
Absolutely yes for ISC and production.
MM made a career out of management-by-shouting. His memoir will be called “The loudest voice in the room”. Eat to know who his mentees and favorites are… and avoid at all cost.
Surprisingly, in my 15 years at Honeywell that was not the norm. There are million things I can complain about, but my managers have been pretty good for the most part. Suppose it all depends on your site and your role.
MM accepts this behavior as do his HR Ka@#ns. They investigate when complaints surface and only hear what they want to hear. Heck, a VP known as ST caused turnover everywhere he went.....turned over entire departments with his antics, investigated and nothing. It's all by design.....quite unbelievable this place functions like this.
That's the only way the Honeywell management knows: fear and intimidation. If they actually knew how to lead, the company would be doing much better and people wouldn't be heading for the exits en masse. Don't worry about your resume. If a potential new employer asks, you just tell them that the position at Honeywell just isn't the right fit for you and that's why you're looking for something new.
Go over to the test lab and get a pair of earplugs.
Yes, it is the norm to insult, scream, belittle, and create an atmosphere of hostility between rank and file of toxic leaders. An example of the best response I saw was an employee who was being yelled at was to shut their camera off on a PC, place employee badge on PC, and walk out the door never to be seen again. The "Executive" ranted on for another 5 - 10 minutes before someone told him this employee simply walked out the door. If you stay calm and don't react, I have seen "leaders" become more frustrated as they believe this sorry excuse for an intimidation tactic does not work with most emotionally rationale staff. Some staff become terrified and have never seen such toxic egregious behavior, but yes, it is the HON way.
Yes. I likened it to being in an abusive marriage
Don't worry about your resume- that's a 20th century concern. Employers are not worried about a few short stints, trust me.
Not only the norm but highly encouraged by ALT and HR. I lasted almost 50 years and it was yelling all day everyday and constant threats
