Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Return to office

Many of us have worked from home for 2 years with little issue. So why the push to rerun to office and not just keep it voluntary? Not jazzed to return given little salary increase to offset increased commute costs. Also the time to commute that could be used for productive work. Those that moved to non-office locations were smart since there is no office to go back to.

I Realized that remote working was the only thing I still liked of AiG. Many are leaving now just to have more flexibility, but PZ doesn't care, the less the better, he can just dump the remaining work on the other fools resisting or on Accenture. Oh, and a little free advice, Accenture doesn't know how to do insurance, it's only an illusion that will last until you don't fire the last AIG people that know the job. For our knowledge transfer to Accenture, to their Bulgaria branch (formerly AIG's), they made some diagrams to explain jobs that needed years of experience and a degree to be perfomed. Their idea is "automation" will solve everything and only numbers are important, to the point where they put an accountant to lead claims in Europe

Not optional. They are producing reports on how many times people are coming into the office. Message is about to get more stern. Still no response on how they plan to handle the unvax’ed.

Useless Micromanagers and middle management can’t justify their existence with everyone working from home and not having pointless meetings or zoom calls in a conference room while they themselves are remote.

Besides inflation woes, what about the crime specifically in NYC? Do they really think people want to go back to the office knowing they're worried about taking the subways/trains, even in danger walking down the street?

With no pay rise can not see many going back to the office. Need to save money other ways to offset inflation so no train fates / car petrol.

If you trust anything that AIG leaders say, you’re fooling yourselves.
Wait until paltry raises that don’t some close to covering inflation are posted. The current turnover will pale in comparison when added to return to office.
Ironic that they won’t give raises to people they want to retain, then they scramble to give them a market adjustment when it’s too late, THEN ending up backfilling role with Accenture person or hiring another at a higher rate. All the while, the people with the knowledge and history, especially in tech, are gone. Tech mag Edson is coming, although none of the leadership appear to acknowledge it.

Just don’t go back due to health issues…
Just don’t do any extra work either.. especially if you aren’t being compensated for it…

Same here not vaxxed and never will be. But I wouldn't look for a job unless you haven't been there a long time. If you have let them give you a package if they aren't happy with you working remote because if you leave you will not get unemployment either.

I am not vaxxed so I can never go in to the office but I am so peed off w no communication, the leadership in my department is junk. I know my job well but being pushed 2x the work. Doing UW work w out UW pay.

They hire more crappies UWs that aren't trained correctly.

Looking for a new job currently, hoping to get back pay for a raise. This is ridiculous.

I won't ever go into the office again

Many employers offering 25-30% hike over AIG pay and remote work option.
I got a 35% hike in another job. So, I quit last month and have a remote job

Typical promises. Many made and few of any kept

What poor timing in sending out the return to work email 48 hours after the subway attack. I guess he’s chauffeur driven so why should he care how employees commute to the office. So much for the empty promise that rtw is voluntary.
