“I received a 9.&% raise. I asked my uncle why I didn't receive more and he just laughed.
I'm now at 112% of top %tile target. Next raise will be a promotion to District level.
I was surprised that I wasn't hired on as a District with a degree in International Studies from Texas State U but I'm happy.
To those complainers - Be Happy!”

Since when was your salary pegged to inflation?

Consider most sit with no work available 3/4 of the day and brag about it. Think you overpaid right now

When we hear that inflation is the highest in 40 years, what we're not hearing is, the CPI index was calculated differently 40 years ago compared to today.
https://www.bls.gov/cpi/additional-resources/historical-changes.htm
There was revisions in 1987, 1998 and 2018. There has been complaints that CPI was changed to lower cost of living adjustments in Social Security, as well as lowering payouts in Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS).

To get an accurate comparison to the past, both past and current inflation would need to be calculated in the same way. I'm hearing that if current inflation was calculated the same way as 40 years ago, we'd be in double digit inflation, and we would have to go back to the Carter years to see similar inflation.

This is just another example where, through the omission of material facts, the public is being gaslighted by the media.

This should be seen as a needed readjustment. Far too many T employees are highly overpaid for their current skillset.

Looking at the Legacy T and Midwest contract extensions to Apr 2026, the four wage increases are:
3%, 3%, 2.5%, 2.5%

That's a increase of 11% (11.46% compounded) over 4 years. And then consider that the increases occur at the highest incremental tax bracket, these workers will be losing purchasing power that is locked in for 4 years. Any other contracts up for renewal better have COLA bargained into them.

Many don't even deserve the 3% raise. They should be giving that back, and then some.

I don't know what there is to be happy about. T stock has fallen 50% since 2020. All the poorly thought out mergers have failed. The dividend is now smaller. Looks like investors have fled. Why should they come back? Is Stankey gonna "unlock" more value? His track record really sucks big time (maybe biggest ever time - LOL). Time for a new CEO and executive team.... Too bad T is not in Elon's sights. Sign me, retiree doing just fine, watching from the sidelines, wondering what might have been with T.
