Before SBC came along, T had the company management streamlined to an acceptable level, an overdue departure from the old Bell system way of conducting business. Then came SBC, an RBOC, (Regional Bell Operating Company) that became big enough to purchase AT&T. What happened after that is T went right back to the old Bell system. Layer after layer of unnecessary management on the payroll for appearance sake only. Personnel that T could have easily done without, but that was the Bell system mentality back in the day, a virtual monopoly in the telephone business. They hired anybody, family, friends, friends of friends! Now, T needs to get away from that business model and get this company streamlined once again or change will be slow and painful!
