Maybe it's time to seriously consider divesting AT&T. Return to the RBOC concept, no need for a nationwide presence, with the exception of Legacy T. Ameritech, Pacific Telesis, Southwestern Bell, BellSouth, and SNET were all better run companies on their own. Legacy T could probably make it with proper leadership. I see little to no value in the current corporate structure. Stankey could be left to try and run SWBT, no guarantees!

Now that T is a telecom, Stankey needs to trim the workforce and get the company more streamlined.
T is way too much for Stankey to lead and be successful. He might do better with just the former RBOC SWBT!
T is not the powerhouse of the 70's and 80's. None of the regional bell's actually exist anymore. Only on paper. No visions of anti-trust violations.
Can I remind you all that Verizon was a baby bell back in the day. New York Telephone, Bell Atlantic and others in the northeast. They also bought MCI. There was bad blood between Verizon and bell south, that’s why SWB and Bell South merged. Anyway, who cares? Move on….
While you’re at it, why not advocate for getting rid of computers; there was nothing wrong with typewriters and carbon paper. Make kids learn cursive using those No. 2 lead pencils. Those were the days…..so much more efficient back then! Right..?LOL

Should of never let them buy back the baby bells. Did nothing but cost customer service and jobs. Monopolies are always bad period.
All this pain will stop when we spin off AT&T Fiber, and we just have the Mobility side. Then this certain wireless phone manufacture will acquire AT&T Mobility. The perfect consumer business model, phone manufacture and service provider. HQ will be leaving Dallas and moving to One Apple Way, Cupertino CA.

I propose an Affordable Phone Act that mandates every individual household have a land-line phone. This individual mandate will keep the costs low for people whose service would otherwise be unaffordable.
Each RBOC would be self-sustaining under this system. It means no layoffs. Please use your CWA lobbyists to push this APA.

While we’re at it let’s get rid of cell phones and go back to good old tip and ring. Also this fiber sounds like some hippy talk go back to good old dial up or ISDN
