Interesting that this is a layoff board, but I mostly see posts from people complaining that still work for Chevron. It really reinforces my decision to leave during the EOI was the correct one. It sounds like those that stayed are more miserable than ever.

in that respect, this board is like the automotive problem sites - you typically only find those having issue with car, not the much larger % who like, or are content with company. Overall my experience is that CVX has some issues like anywhere, but overall majority of yees content or like job
And what value does the OP bring to this board?
Chevron as a company ‘most admired to work for’ peaked around 2013. It’s been downhill ever since. Green and MW are the one-two punches turning what once was a great company to work for into drudgery and back-stabbing.
The time to not complain is when oil is $30 / bbl. If you’re going to whine and complain this is about the best time to do it. For the record I’m not complaining as my boss pretty much leaves me alone and I feel I’m fairly compensated for what I do.
Some people are never happy no matter what and yet do not take the right actions.
In this environment, one should be thankful to have a good paying job with great benefits. If you are no happy leave for better opportunities. Have you ever looked at the homeless people around the company building and ever wondered what is the difference? The difference is luck and and an accident. If you lose your job and are not lucky to find one, you become homeless soon. Be thankful/greatful for what lord has given you,things can change pretty quickly once the oil price goes down and it will go down so now is not the time to complain.
