Retiree Cell cost rising

We’re adjusting the monthly charge on our retired unlimited wireless plans. This change will allow us to continue to deliver the great wireless service you expect. Starting in June 2022, you’ll see the relevant price change reflected for your June bill.
• If you have a single line of service on your plan, your price will increase by $6 a month.
• If you have multiple lines on your plan, your price will increase by $12 a month. This is the total monthly increase and isn’t $12 per line.
The good news is your plan isn’t going away. You can continue to enjoy your existing benefits, including unlimited talk, text, and data in and between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, and AT&T ActiveArmorSM mobile security.

I switched to T-Mobile for better coverage of service and their great customer service. You can't get that at AT&T.

@4rks+1gTT1LgY - no it isn't but you believe what you want.

First, only OLD/RETIRED unlimited plans are affected. For me, I have multiple lines on an older Unlimited Plus plan. I will have an increase of $12/month starting in June 2022. If you move to one of the newer plans, Elite, Extra or Starter, you simply pay the cost of the plan with no $12 increase. Basically, ATT wants to get rid of the older plans – period. Note, once you switch any line to a new plan, they all have to go to something new – that is an important caveat.

I'm glad you great wireless service, as to the rest of it, what is "over engineer"?

AT&T has a real solid wireless network. When comparing costs to other carriers and MVNO's it's not terribly competitive...but it's a solid network nonetheless.

I have been a AT&T employee for 26 years and used Tmobile the last 15 years. Saved a bundle, better customer service and where i live the service is better. When i 1st started using Tmobile they had wifi calling and this Cingular/SWB/BellSouth shop did not. SWB has always lagged

I don't see my plan listed in the OP post. I Have "AT&T Unlimited Plus Enhanced Multi Line" it's an older plan. I guess my cost won't go up?
I have three phones (all free from AT&T 2 Samsung Note 20's and an iPhone 13) and two watches with cellular for $162 a month (retiree). I haven't been able to find anything comparable at the other carriers with similar service.

T services have always been extremely overpriced. Cricket is the only company solution that should be considered for cell service.

You’ll do better as a customer off the street with any of the other carriers except maybe Verizon…and certainly with ANY of the MVNO’s (Mint, Consumer Cellular, Visible, Xfinity Mobile, etc. etc). It’s sad that so many retirees and even active employees assume they’re getting a deal because they have a “discount”.

you can even get a t-mobile Essential plan for $27/line if you don't care about a lot of hotspot data which AT&T is trying to force on people because they KNOW what you want.

And since you won't be getting TV discounts, many tv providers now bundle up cell service in a plan for low prices also.

AT&T thinks their plans are competitive, but they aren't even competitive with what they claim are employee discounts.

Most T customers use autopay, they won't even notice the increase. Cell phone service has become a right, customers will cut all other bills to maintain their service. Instead of cutting our bennies, keep raising the monthly cellphone rate.

T-Mobile $35/line with 2 lines autopay. So two phones, unlimited everything $70/mo. includes all taxes and fees.
