Whenever I expect support from the manager, I become reassured that I will not get it and that I am left here on my own. He is almost always unavailable to me. Perhaps it's just me, perhaps I was expecting more than I can get at HW?

Front line managers can't support their direct reports except at SIGNIFICANT risk to their own job security, let alone promotion. They are just conduits of whatever the latest metrics are that were created far above them without knowledgeable input on feasibility and long term effects.
Incompetent management at Honeywell. They hired this new supervisor. The first day he said, “I don’t know why they hired me I don’t know what I’m doing.” They even omit they are not qualified for the job.
They hire their buddies. They even laugh and say well you don’t need a degree. You get trained in as you go. It’s the worst that Minneapolis has ever been run. I’m ready to run away from this company.
A side of being self-centered and Arrogant ba----ds. They lie and tell CNC operators. I worked in the field for 10 years. The CNC operators know they’re talking out of the a-s.
It’s really funny when he try to act like they’re know what they’re talking about. Very confident bullshitter management. They are such compulsive liars. What’s really funny they believe what they’re telling you.
If you work in an office, that is what you can expect for as long as you stay. Everyone is stretched so thin, you will only get attention if you mess up. Ask your manager if he can schedule 1/2 hour for you per week so you can keep him updated on your work. Expect most of those sessions to be cancelled, but if you can get one or two sessions a month, you're ahead. Plan your agenda carefully.
You won't get much from honeywell.
Well, you'll get less free time because they will expect you to work 12 hour days, and maybe a few hours on the weekend.
