Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

HIPAC Details

Here’s where you find out exactly how much is coerced from Honeywell employees. The “donation” amount can be used to calculate the brown-nosers’ salary (divide the amount by the max percentage they are allowed to contribute). Each donation is listed separately (ie, if someone donated something from every paycheck for a year, then there are 26 donations listed for the year). https://www.opensecrets.org/political-action-committees-pacs/honeywell-international/C00096156/donors/2022

Public info
The most someone can donate to a PAC is 5k a year. So at HON we are basically required to donate the amount each year. Yes crazy. So everyone director level or above is pressured (and incentives to pressure others) to donate at this level. Ask to visit the PAC office in DC it’s fancier then the new NC HQ.

Don’t donate

As a band 4 myself, I refuse to give. I don't care how many emails I get from HMC-W about giving. I asked for the report of where the money is being spent and I let them know if 1 cent had gone to any democrat politicians to include the current b-m in charge, my answer is a definite no thanks. I have yet to receive the list.

What is the total amount of money getting funneled per year by HIPAC?

Never ever did the HIPAC - it seemed ridiculous for a company making so much money to demand it from the workers - I hated how they said "optional" and then applied the pressure in subtle ways; plus the raises had dried up by then, so F them. $200 / paycheck @2% of salary is $260k and @1% is $520k/year. Either way, not bad - where do you think a newly-minted VP would be?

As a band 4 I had a number of calls to give before I finally gave in. Based on the number of calls, yes it’s coercion. Also at one point our site in VA (now spun off) was also told by the business leader that while participation by the site was good, management didn’t think WE WERE GIVING ENOUGH!!!

Its funny that I can't find any of the executive leadership team as contributors. I guess it shows how selfish they are since they are the ones most likely to benefit from the corruption of this PAC.

Yea the attorney for the line of business was the recruiter for this in my line of business spouting all the rules and HON does not require participation. Then a few weeks into the process a spreadsheet is sent out to the delated recruiters with ..." list."

It is shameless CORECTION and with hints of RETALIATION if you don't pony up and place your name on the list of contributors. Pictures were sent out of leaders in the DC beltway HON office and outside in front of the capital building.

The implication was, if HON needs to influence the political establishment, they will with the cost of this corruption shifted to the backs of the rank in file staff. Then you see the HON CEO with the President of the US in country with a leader of one of those low-cost regions planning to increase H1B visas and offshore jobs from the US. All smiles with the whisper of...."if we don't do it, the competition will."

If you are director or above and you do not donate you get some tough love “coercion “ if you are director or above and you don’t coerce others to “donate” more tough love. Yes promotions , grade reviews are part of the pay to play Illegal HiPAC BS

This is illegal coercion and it needs to be stopped. Someone call the hot line. Oh wait Honeywell monitors it. Fox watching the h-nhouse:) :(

Most of these are 1% = Chairmen's Level. Take Contribution amount x 26 x 100 = Base Salary.

Give now or give more later. Mad Dog contributing 2% of his pay. Peanuts for the 'dog.

Never "donated" to the the cause despite annual pressure and finally left. Was a racket and yes, it was held against you if you didn't donate.

I'm band 4 and I have never contributed and have zero intention to do so. Why would I if I have no control over what party the money is sent to, it makes no sense.

Is it possible that they could try to use indirect methods to "encourage" people to pay into this racket? Is there a suspicion that not participating could result in increased workload, bad projects, worse performance reviews etc?

As a band 4 employee, I completely ignored all HIPAC emails and did not give them a dime.

And then I found a much better job.

Seems like I recall there was a 2% of base salary limit on employee contributions (from a 33-year Bendix/Signal/AlliedSignal/Honeywell, 2016 VRIF'ed engineer, drawing a nice pension while happily employed elsewhere). It's almost certain that those on this high-contributions list are donating at maximum level, as it was an unstated requirement to keep your position at those levels. Base salaries are trivial compared to yearly bonuses.

Most of the ones on the list are at the VP level or above.
Some may be at the senior director level.
There are many many hundreds of band 4 folks not on this list because they are under the $200/paycheck threshold.

This is wild, all their names are in it. What would be the max contribution percentage in these cases?

OP: Same website at the link. Yes, Honeywell has a PAC as do most major corporations, unions & special interest groups. Check out the link on our congressional leadership and the PAC's and individuals they accept funding from.
