Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Speaking of the end of the Employee DTV Discount - anyone hear anything more with March approaching?

I suspect that the email Satone Ratnert sent out, most of us elected to disconnect DTV service. I would have thought we should have heard something sbout returning the equipment or at least some communication confirming our DTV service will be ending in about 10 days?

I suspect the incompetent Ratbert Santone would blow it!

Or is DTV going to slam us all?

Or are you all contacting DTV yourselves to cancel your service on your own and not depending on Santone?

I kept DTV but downgraded service. Went with Choice package ($96) and dropped HBO.

Local overpriced cable provider quote was 132/mo for fewer channels than the choice package. They had no offers going.

Did a trial on Youtube TV, was alright on live channels, but recorded content looked awful. Was also missing channels the wife watches, and no regional sports networks (and my local one does not stream). Hulu was missing even more channels. Also would need to buy a Roku box to stream on other TV's.

I went into this planning to cancel DTV, stream and use the DTV wiring for an antenna connect to the dish.

I called DirecTV to verify that I canceled service as an employee. They had no record. Apparently the survey monkey did nothing. You MUST call 800-531-5000 with your account number if you want to disconnect the service, it cannot be done online.

With your premium wages, you shouldn’t be getting discounts.

Don't wait to disconnect it as they WILL NOT prorate or refund. I retired and mine went up to $250 and so I'm stuck with an autobill for this extra month. Going to YouTube or Hulu

Let’s collaborate! What is everyone going to binge watch before our DTV gets canceled and we start returning to the office?

I called.

They knew it was terminating.

Servic will stop at the end of the billing cycle on March 21 for me. Last bill must be paid in 7 days.

They will then send an email to take the equipment to UPS or Fedex with 21 days.

When I called concessions and cancelled they made it sound like that survey monkey was just to get an idea on those who were keeping vs canceling even though it asked for an account number.

I called and made sure mine was disconnected, I don't trust this company enough to ensure they'll properly do it via a survey.

That is why I went with Sling, Mint Mobile & Spectrum.
AT&T has nothing that I want nor want to pay.

T will likely be getting reports to see who disconnects DTV service entirely and use this metric for 2022 performance.

The bill will go up to $165.00 mth with the Ultimate Package. Just disconnect and get Spectrum or Comcast etc for a fraction of the price.....simple. I did and it took them 4 months to send me the return package and generate a credit....Gravy train is over. Wait until the mobility discount is impacted.
