You need to pay attention to requirements in California. We have 2 major refineries there with bio requirements. This deal makes a lot of sense in that market alone.
Gets MW on CNBC and Cramer loves it. That’s all that matters.
Just like Chevron to follow a debunked decade old trend. They sold it on the idea it might include some refining p, which MW loves.
What happens when Japan is taken.
They can essentially shut down everyone. What would happen if Russia just took one month off from oil production. It would collapse Europe and cause the US prices to double. Especially with joe saying we don’t need to increase US production
They would have a lot easier time if they called it……Binary Diesel!!!
@ixxf share the link.
Captain Obvious that biodiesel and the like are charades for the masses.
The proof is that Permian fracking is the most harmful act to Earth. It causes earthquakes for Christ’s sake. So much for subsurface integrity WTF subsurface assurance sh!t team.
Our leadership has no qualms destroying for a few cent dividend aristocrat raise.
Biodiesel is so played out that cvx has really revealed their bluff on this one.
Toxicity anyone???
There was a report on LinkedIn that says the majors (Chevron was named) are basically just putting on a show for Wall St. and the media, there's no intent to transition, and very few dollars going into it. These biodiesel and hydrogen schemes (along with manure gas) seem to be part-and-parcel of this charade.
Born, of corn…
We have to posture to impress the almighty stock analysis. Buying a renewable company is the quickest way to get the tech and move toward generating revenue. Chevron is putting lots of eggs in the biodiesel and hydrogen baskets. We’ll see how it works out for JG.
Biodiesel, without extensive tax subsidies, has shown, over and over again over the last fifteen years, to be a losing proposition. I thought Chevron was smarter than that, or is that new transition team just so desperate?
Agreed. Biodiesel is nonsense pursuit of 19th century combustion engines. The planet needs solar asap. Europe is dying for it now without gas.
No one wants bio diesel or hydrogen or any of that other b.s. The future is in electric vehicles (especially with the recent Ford trucks). We to establish a strong presence in that market so we can be leaders in the rest of the 21st century.
And that will cause layoffs is why you post that here?
Management will give free corn to employees for next year's bonus !
The new team has to show results and this is all they came up with. Doesn’t seem wildly profitable to me.
Woopie, that's so 2010.
