Got the e-mail this morning - ATS (Jeremy Legg) will start going back to the office on 3/1, and we'll be "fully in our hybrid operations" by 4/4 - I understand that to mean "flex workers" back sometimes and "office workers" back most/all of the time.

It’s a theory of mine that AT&T is implementing back to office to force people to quit, illuminate pensions, and no severance pay for quitting. ALSO no relocation package. SOME cannot pick up and move to ONLY “certain offices”. Nor are they given the option to work at office they reported to PRIOR to covid. Thoughts on this? Is this legal?

Do you realize how few of them know DirecTV is now a separate company? How about the employee who switched to Cricket because of the clear, up-front pricing? Connect with your customers. Make their experience effortless, not a torturous waste of time.
Att management is psycho and not normal compared to othe companies with the same amount of money and people.
@5dpl+1fsQKt3c, what changes did you have in mind? Hate to break it to you, T doesn’t change. Office or remote, your work doesn’t change. The executives who led the company to this point do not change. We could be building out 6g network, things don’t change my friend.

Here's the deal. Our company has failed over the last two years and is in the middle of a major retreat into focusing on internet service to homes and mobile phones.
Working from home didn't cause this, but it didn't help. Right now we are the equivalent of a NYC Taxi medallion owner in the face of Uber. We will fail if we don't try to change things.
With the cost of gas at record highs (and about to get higher with recent world events), isn't it ecologically irresponsible of AT&T to demand one go to the office? Especially in cases like I am in... where all of my co-workers are thousands of miles (and several time zones) away from me. I didn't move where I am due to the pandemic. I have always lived here during my employ at AT&T. What logic says that I would be more productive traveling many miles to my collaboration zone in order to make conference calls? I don't do laundry on AT&T's time. I work really hard, and that doesn't end at 5:00 PM and often extends to weekend hours. Fortunately, my management seems very empathetic and I don't expect to be forced to do illogical things. But we will see... I remember all of the nonsense when people were fired for not living near collaboration zones.

LOL the emails will pile up now. They aren't paying for laundry time , and now they arent having my time normally spent in the car,commuting, and $5.00 gas goes into the cost analysis of should I go somewhere else now? They've just lost 2 hours productivity, enjoy that decision. And the computer stays at the office, They've just lost Weekend and Evening productivity now too. good job.
The problem with all this is the conflicting relationship that boards have with owning real estate and corporate office logistics support companies [money generation opportunities. revenue adders, et. al.], and taxing schemes.. Its has nothing to do with T saving a ton of money working more efficiently. It's time to accept one of those other offers on the table. Buh Bye !
It's ok if you're remote if working from a sweat shop overseas. Remember if you get sick where it came from.

Being in the office always ensures a more consistent schedule is followed. T shouldn’t be paying for laundry time!
We got ours from SVP Arison, who us retiring effective September 1, telling us how productive people have been for 2 years wfh and now is the time to start returning to the office March 1 for flex workers so you can chat it up at work and be more productive. She's out of touch with reality like most SVPs

Last I heard my building was being renovated (again). No one on my team is anywhere near me anyways. I’d be going to the office to do what exactly? I don’t have an issue going back to the office, but it does seem pointless at this time.

I read the hybrid policy and saw that flex is 1-3 days a week. I guess for me it'll be on the low end of that since my supervisor doesn't seem particularly keen on coming back to the office himself.
I was told Flex is one day a week. Show up late, take a long lunch and leave early. I think I'll survive.
Don't go back, make them fire you for cause. If they really wanted to raise a stink about it, why resign and give them the easy button.
