Much anticipated management raise didn’t happen. Some said 10% and others said 4-5% with better raises due to being at the bottom of the payscale. Guess all the speculation was incorrect.

@3aaf+1frTMOba Actually, Geo zones are based on the COST OF LABOR in the area. So, if you are like me who lives in a county that has a lot of farming? You're screwed. Housing is still out of reach in N1 geo zones, but the Death Star cares nothing of that. Meanwhile, they moved a large percentage of employees to the bottom of the new paybands. So, we are essentially starting over after, in some instances, more than 10 yrs of work with highest performance ratings. It didn't matter. What's the incentive to do more and work so hard? Yeah, after 10 yrs, I get it now. Do the minimum for the acceptable ratings so you don't miss out on company bonus. You are never getting out of Tier 1 pay.
Interesting. Optimist and very hard worker, however, still very low raise. Good to see those who are hard workers, and maybe some who aren’t actually getting generous raises though.
- 5 years into an L1 role, 4.49%, Tier 3, N1 town. Achieves and Excels. Life is good when you’re not a pessimist and you work hard.

Was almost to the midpoint, then while they increased the pay bands, I'm back to barely $1K over the minimum WITH A 5% merit. After a decade of work. WTAF? I'm moving backwards again! I was already underpaid, yet they couldn't take the opportunity to put me at least in the same general area on the new pay band as I was before? And being in a company-designated N1 doesn't mean things are cheap. Housing is still $275K-300K for a small starter home. But according to my supervisor, I'm supposed to be grateful bc of the huge bonus and merit. Umm. If you make less money, you make less bonus. Eliminated the video discount for all intents and purposes. So, my Total Compensation went down even further in the little document they like to brag about how much the company does. And btw, those of you who think 5% is big? It will just about cover income taxes so that I will not have to pay as much in state and federal income tax. So, I'm making the same amount I did last year, essentially. This company. Sigh.
Geo zones are payscales based on cost of living in a region. Zones 3-4 are places like DC, NYC, and LA. Zone 1 is small towns, zone 2 is the typical metro area. With the way everything is now, everywhere should be Zone 4. Where can you get a house in the $200’s near T’s collab zones now?
What are Geo zones?
Well inflation is not on every dollar you spend.
"What a joke. 4%, AT&T is shameful. They don’t give two shi$s about inflation."
Achieves and Excels, L2 Tier 2 in newly adjusted band. 4%
@1h1b - did your tsr (pay scale) range change? What title?
What a joke. 4%, AT&T is shameful. They don’t give two shi$s about inflation.
I got a rock.
I am very happy with my 142% bonus and 4.5% "pay cut." Very blessed! I have achieved financial independence. Just building wealth and being generous at this stage - in a low stress, not real difficult job. Sweet!
Here is another thing directors do: if an employee is near the top of the range they won't waste an "exceeds" on them since they still won't get much of a raise, if any. They'll give it to someone less deserving that is low in a range at the same level. Distribution and merit allotment they get is by level
I am barely at the minimum of my salary range. I was rated at the highest performance ('far exceeds' or whatever the new equivalent is). I got 5.5%. Considering inflation - and that the salary adjustments completely ignored it last year - I'm now making less. My boss unironically called the raise AMAZING.
Management got 143% bonus so you wouldn't get much merit, which grows your base and impacts future increases. You thought they were being nice with the bonus and they were fooling you again!!
Exceeds and Excels. 4.4999%. Well under midpoint still.
I got 4%
Praying for you and your family. The rate of inflation should've gotten everyone at least 5%, not sure what your financial situation is, but a very low wage increase could be enough to sink individuals just as bad as a demotion in todays hyper-inflated society.
10% increase today to bring me up to the minimum of new Geo Zone pay scale.
isn't the business unit/department also a factor regarding how much they can increase?
management C&E, bottom of "2nd tier", 1.7%
File a grievance, you are on the list now.
If you got less than 3% this might be why 1) high in your TSR (tier3) will cause this. 2) your a low performer and your supervisor adjusted the allocation that was loaded. Steal from Peter to pay Paul for those high performers.
You could end up being targeted. They always look at employees with low wage increases, indicating poor performance, when needing to layoff.
4 Years service. 1st level. 6.7% raise with 5.9% COLA.
I'm happy, sort of - even thou I was expecting a COLA of 10%.
Think I'll go celebrate at the AT&T Center for Lunch in Irving.
Your Right to Discuss Wages
Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA or the Act), employees have the right to communicate with other employees at their workplace about their wages. Wages are a vital term and condition of employment, and discussions of wages are often preliminary to organizing or other actions for mutual aid or protection.
If you are an employee covered by the Act, you may discuss wages in face-to-face conversations and written messages. When using electronic communications, like social media, keep in mind that your employer may have policies against using their equipment. However, policies that specifically prohibit the discussion of wages are unlawful.
You may have discussions about wages when not at work, when you are on break, and even during work if employees are permitted to have other non-work conversations. You have these rights whether or not you are represented by a union.

Sound right, highest raises go to top performers on team. Bottom dwellers get minimal increase. Make it a goal to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and become a top performer on your Team in 2022.
OP here. I’m at the bottom of tier 1. Is this incorrect?
Management ATO, 4.7% increase
Or maybe already at the top of the tier.
