Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The longest days here

I really thought I would finally get some relief after giving notice, but no. It turned out quite the opposite. I don't want to leave on bad terms, but it's becoming a real challenge now. It looks like the manager is punishing me for my decision. Never, but absolutely never, have I been under such pressure. Is this their common practice after someone gives notice, to overwhelm the employee with work like never before?

That's why you always give your 2 week notice right before your scheduled 2 week vacation begins.

why worry - tell them you will have it done in three weeks ( assuming you gave two weeks ) trust me don't worry about bad terms they don't and you will not want to come near the place once you find out how badly managed the cesspool is compared to your new company.

Tell him to FO. What will he do? Fire you?

I need you to do it , because I'm not when your are gone. It goes against our debt for success ideology.

Years ago SBC offered SIP and 6 Area Manager Engineers took the offer and retired. 2 different Districts called a meeting with all of us remaining AM engineers. I already had the largest area and the biggest budget. During that meeting those 2 jerks decided to give me 4 of the 6 who left AM responsibilities AND took away 8 of my Managers. They knew what they were planning 2 months before but waited until their AM's were gone.
I retired on the spot and the Districts said I had to give notice. I guess it's ok to give me 5 minutes notice that my scope just increased to Division responsibility with no increase in pay or a promotion. So I said OK and went to my office backdated a letter 3 weeks prior and gave them both the notice quitting on the spot. Then I walked.

T abuses there employees so much that you probably fear he will give you a no rehire in your checkout forms. Unlikely. You have the power now and can write an email to their boss or better yet the officer complaint about there behavior. There is no loyalty anymore so they will turn on your manager to save themselves hassle.

If you provided two weeks notice and you are taking on too much work, that is on you.
I would be enjoying each and every day. You provided a notice. They won’t fire you. If they do it looks like a retaliatory move.

Don’t do the work lol. Resign now. Two weeks notice is a courtesy , not a requirement. Just walk out the door. Say bye bye. Grow a pair.
