Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Management compensation video (viewer discretion is advised)

Stankey was so convinced that he can turn T into a media juggernaut, what a laught. Caught the recorded Manggement compensation video, these wooded hr executives are pretty much like online training cartoon characters, only the mouths move with voice over script. This mess will be a media company when he-l freeze over. Betty White (rip) had more energy and zeal.

Shouldn’t they be all excited about how competitive pay, bonus, and benefits are? I guess that facts don’t lie, they were under extreme duress or Helsinki syndrome when recording the video.

Oh yea, budget in place for more merit due to inflation. Whether you get a decent raise depends on 123 and xyz. This is me telling my teenagers that they will get an allowance raise due to inflation. How much exactly depends what the neighborhood kids are getting. That will go over really well, especially with the wife. Specificity isn’t a two way street with these geniuses.

The role play with manager and employee reviewing annual compensation letter was like a bad middle school play. Forced to speak with your secret crush level awkward. The football play by play was slight attempt to be cool, but fell on its face.

Don’t forget the call to action, everyone are encouraged to spend time talking to your manager about your pay, merit, bonus etc. I’m sure managers are thrilled to repeat the same hr/legal script to all your questions, while you earn more brownie points.

All that and they didn’t even say WHEN we would get to see the stuff they were talking about. He-l, I click on the links to view everything and it just laughs at me and says nothing is there to look at. What a complete joke, as always.

@1vlz+1fnNL3Hg, you the perfect model employee for Randy/Stankey. Keep selling yourself short while executives make out with millions.

What much can we bet on that Stankey will take another pay hike, plus a golden parachute when he retires?

Keep taking a knee for the failing company, they will love you for it.

Employees in a shrinking business, with falling income, expect to be paid more for delivering the same level of effort as last year. It doesn't make any sense.

Mr.Stepheson, your attempt to be the number 2 wireless by buying T Mobile failed. Payed T Mobile 4 billion, gave them some valuable spectrum while you where at it. Bought a satellite broadcasting system because "you didn't want to manage decline". Started loosing money on the DTV purchase. Sought a new shiny object and bought Warner Media, because why not, AT&T has someone ready to take control who knows more about media than anyone.
Get the F_ck out clown.

It’s still surprising there hasn’t been major turnover in Corporate Communications. The videos released during the last year have been so awful. A high school journalism class could produce better.

I tried to get on onestop and also experienced the page overload. Prior to the meeting they had a recorded video and afterwards the same one. Apparently, no planning for ones who might have wanted to see a live recording to potentially ask a question. So I went back and watched the recorded one when the site came back up.
I pretty much agree with the OP about everything scripted with eyes moving back and forth around talking points or throwing scripted questions to someone else about how "great" all the things in our compensation "supposedly" are.

Op here, don’t take my word for it. Watch the video and see if I’m unfair with my characterizations in any way.

Huh?

yeah. exactly.

There was a compensation webinar earlier this week.
HR planned poorly for it, and rather than have it be hosted somewhere that can handle the traffic linked to HROneStop. So at the time of the meeting HROnestop was DDOSed for 45 minutes by people trying to get in.

After the meeting was over, they posted a video (iicr hosted by IBM, why didn't they just link directly to that in the first place).

The thread starter here, is trying to mock the video. But does it in such a way their school teachers weep.

It was pretty funny in the video as you could literally watch their eyes move across the screen as they pretended to not be having scripted interactions.

The expense and time spent on the video was wasted as it said nothing that couldn't have been put in a one page pdf.

I was surprised that compensation isn't following the standard woke theory that women should be paid the same as men. Rather they go with common sense. People doing the same job, with the same experience, skill, performance, etc should make the same.
