Seems management couldn't wait to get rid of expats at $40 oil. At $80, the employment door has swung wide open! The only problem is that now not so many ex employees have good things to say about the company. When I joined Aramco, it was because I knew someone there who recommended it. It is one thing to take a bad job in one's home Country, quite another to travel half way around the world for one. Someone needs to tell management that employee goodwill is an asset, even if it doesn't appear on the balance sheet. The company has basically used up its employee goodwill, and now it is finding out how hard it is to get good people without it. Not to mention the good people that left because they got disgusted with the work culture.
FWIW, I really don't wish the Saudis bad. I hope you guys step up because it looks like you are going to have to. Of course, that would require management to reward Saudis without wasta for skills they have and hard work they do. That wasn't happening when I worked for Aramco, and I don't image that it is going to start anytime soon.
