Two in my team have already put in their notice this week. Both cited the ridiculous return to office as why. The talent look blood is just starting to spill...
Few of those in the 'participation trophy' generation feel obligated to show up for work all the time. They'll get their pay regardless. This is just a continuation of how they were spoiled as children. We don't want to upset their 'self-esteem' by asking them to come to work as they committed to. Chevron in particular coddles this nonsense behavior. Ever hear of anyone, anytime being called out for not showing up to work?
Who the heck works 5 days a week?

People gave noticed before they received their bonuses?
Chevron has no incentive to offer better conditions because nobody is poaching staff with WFH in this industry.
XOM here. CVX offered alternatives (4/10, 9/80, job-share, etc.) and hybrid way before XOM, which still does not allow same.
@nda+1flyFCW2 Just because you don't have a 5/40 doesn't mean one doesn't exist. There are plenty of folks in the office on the 5/40, as there is one and it has existed for decades.
