Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT emloyees

ATT has received a lot of criticism here and elsewhere due to bad decisions by senior management and they deserve it. However its the employees who will make or break the company. they are the ones who customers see. the dont see stankey.

Twice I tried porting my phone to ATT to take advantage of retiree discounts, twice it failed. I had NO issues porting from VZ to Tmob (I went to VZ after T, then VZ "riffed" me. Trying to do it on line is a joke, the failure message told me to call a number. i went to a store. there was 1 customer there being taken care of by an employee. there was a trainee employee there. he could not help me, he said there is another employee in the back. I waited, no one came to help me. The other employee who was helping the customer never said "my colleague is at break he will be here soon to help, sorry for the wait" he did not give a damn. I walked out. I will stay with tmob.

T-Mobile over 55 plan beats anything AT&T offers even with the 30% discount.

OP you make a very good point. Yes there is plenty to criticize about executive management. But many of the employees way down the chain are every bit as bad at their jobs or worse. In some cases, they deserve each other.

Managers are ambassadors for the decisions made by corporate leadership. By continuing employment at T, we are essentially showing our endorsement/support for leadership decisions made. This is the trade off everyone makes as a condition of continued employment.

I realize the company has cut to the bone. It suck’s. More work less staff plus the store employees are dumped on by irate customers and their superiors if they don’t make their quota. However an employee attitude is under their control and a kind word to a customer takes no time and it can make the difference between a customer that walks out and one that stays. It says “I give a damn” his attitude told me he did not.

The employees don't get a say in staffing levels or training. They certainly have no say in improving the systems they have to use. The "manager" was probably somewhere "working remote" trying to figure out how to hide the fraud that was instructed.

With that said, every thing that Post ID: @1hce+1ffQtxdS said is true.

This company will lay off its employees at the earliest possible opportunity. Why would we go above and beyond for a company that has no loyalty to us? This ship can sink and burn for all we care.

Welcome to the at&t store. Now empty your pockets and place all your valuables in the box by the door. Then.....get the H511 out and make sure you pay the fake bills that we send you.
Have a good day.
