After I took a role at Centene I found out I had replaced two people and one of them had a title (+ salary) higher than mine even though they had significantly less experience. When I brought up that >I was doing the job of multiple people and had actually taken over two roles (one of which was higher than mine) they looked me in the eye and tried to tell me that I wasn't as qualified as that person who had been doing one job (which was objectively false) and so it was okay to pay / rank me lower and give me that job plus another. Side note, the person who I was supposedly not as qualified as got fired for doing their job incorrectly. It almost makes me laugh that they tried to make me believe my skills were less valuable and they were doing me a favor by allowing me to work two jobs for the price of one (now that I’m out of that ridiculous situation).
