Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Terrible how much non-transparency there is

I hate when rumors start circulating. This is a very clear sign of how non-transparent this company is. For example, here is the last rumor about some big reorganization.
Do employees whose lives may depend on this job have to rely on rumors? Unfortunately, we are always the last ones to find out about very important things going on in this company which directly affect our lives as well.

I'm sorry, sounds like you have been under the impression they care about you? What they care about is making money, and if they can make more without you, see ya. They won't tell you till the very last second, to protect their interests.
Year back GS, the RVP called a regional meeting and took every rep out of the field and asked us to drive to Columbus Ohio. The premise was to "put rumors to rest and tell everyone their jobs were safe". Just a few months later, they let go 1/2 of field sales. Don't think for a minute they didn't know it was coming, they just wanted to be in control. One of my co workers was a single mom and 7 months pregnant, she was widowed, and found herself on the chopping block. Pigs, no other way to describe it. Heartless pigs.

After 32 years of this I draw one conclusion... They don't care.
