Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Is there such a thing as a PIP season?

Meaning, is there a specific time of the year when most people are notified of their PIP status, or are people put on PIPs throughout the entire year?

What I see. When they start promoting you. They do this in order to get rid of you later on. This is what I see at my location.

You get two or three promotions. Then you get a RIF. Which in other words is a reduction in force. Seems to me they keep targeting the people who take the most money. Maybe I’m full of cr-p.

So I don’t think necessarily a promotion is a good thing, especially if they keep promoting you. It definitely seems to me. There a consistent pattern of getting rid of people who are getting promoted.

Over 200% to plan, and I was pip’d. Over 110%, and I was in the elbow. No one is safe from the toxic culture

Every year is pip season. 10-15 % get passed on raise and get a pip. They have to always have low ranked evidence to lean on for layoff or termination.

@xah Not true. Know three directors who were told it was "their turn."

It's always PiPmas at Honeyhell! I know Directors and VP's put on PiP's. Nobody is ever safe. Usually done around performance eval. Spring/summer are popular. Or if you really DO stink anytime.

Managers are required to place certain percentages of people in outer L each yearly review cycle. Those unlucky people are placed on pip.
Sometimes deserved. Often not.
Success at honeywell long term often depends on how you respond.
Like a horse.. do you fight the bit and bridle ?
Or do you relax and take direction?

There is an assumption that 10percent of workforce should be headed for the door at all times.

This is never used against directors and above. VPs are allowed to create an environment that lowers morale and given chance after chance to continue doing what they want…
So bottom line the PIP is for “little people”. Have seen this been lately used as a political tool, mostly used by people of a certain subcontinent against others not from that continent
Your mileage may vary depending on who is in charge
