Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Sick and tired of HW, but can't find alternatives

So, I reached the limit, I can NOT stand this place ANYMORE. I've been here for about 4 years, and I made a final decision around December of last year that I should leave this place. It is starting to impact my mental health and I hate it. I've been applying for jobs for about 3-4 months now, but couldn't get another offer.

I am desperately looking for an exit. What is the best approach to land another job?

It will take perserverance and paitience. I got sick of Honeywell and the favoritism based on the woke broke joke that has taken hold. Inclusion at Honeywell = discriminating against white men, especially those over 40. Keep your head down. Do you job no more than 40 hrs/week. Get out on LinkedIn and network. Put that you open to work, but don't put that green banner on your profile picture. It's easiest to get a job when you already have one. I started looking at the layoff in July 2020. Had some offers that just weren't right and turned them down. Just got an offer that is right and am now enjoying my freedom.

Just keep applying to positions, both internally and externally and something good will eventually happen. Continue to network and use LinkedIn and other tools. I began a low intensity job search in 2019, just prior to Covid. It took 2 years, with no results, but then the right hiring manager came across my resume at the right time and needed my skillset. All it took was one 30-minute phone interview - no face to face, zoom or panel interviews and the job was mine. Now I couldn't be happier, WFH, 20% raise, and better benefits.

Clearly, HW gave you a chance, when no one else will even give you a second look. But go ahead and blame HW for your misery.

Best approach to get a new job is to be good at the one you have now. Solve that and do the leg work to apply for other positions. No rocket science.

Troll post, 100%. If you decided last year that you were leaving this place, and were serious about it, you'd be gone by now. You got this job. Do whatever you did to get this one, just... you know... somewhere else. :)

It totally depends on what you do and if your job can be done remotely.
