I get paid $145k a year plus 12% bonus. That's like over $160k a year... not too shabby.

The work stinks tho.

Pros - the pay was good for me when I was there. You are overpaid for the work performed. (Granted I was a sales rep then Manager. Easy work)

Cons - everything. From the d-mbest customers to walk the earth, shoddy systems, a horrible culture……but the main one is the dishonesty. Everyone lies/everyone is lazy and a scam artist. No ethical sales in virtually any outlet. Customer service, poor saps are the only ones that work for real. They clean up the daily lies told in the stores.

To the poster who worked at ATT, but left after 17 YEARS!!!! And only then found out he could make more money elsewhere….?!? You deserve getting rolled over with low wages if you wasted that many years working for mere pennies. 17 Years??? Don’t blame ATT, look in the mirror!

Pros: Compensation. ATT does offer competitive salaries. - fake news

left att and was making more in two years than I was making att after 17 years.

att has no management and only awards family and friends.

Pros: Compensation. ATT does offer competitive salaries. Also, beginning to see ATT is hiring more educated and tech savvy workers -- routinely.

Cons: There are still way too many employees who either are waiting around for a gravy train of 'offers' so they can leave (which is never going to happen); and too many employees who are speak negatively about the company and their jobs.

Pro: ATT is slowly, but surely eliminating dead weighted, over paid, gimme my pension, and concessions whinny workers.

Con: ATT is not getting the blow hard, constant complainers out the door fast enough.

pro: we got to watch a slow death of a once great company from the inside.

con: see pro.

I always felt good about my pay here. So, cannot really complain there.

I work in Corp Fin and I like people that I closely work with.

The Original Poster....is the same 'person' who wrote 90% of the replies. Don't waste your time. He's one of the serial ATT h$ters who post here often. Sad, miserable complainer.

Pros...I retired at 54 with 7 figures between the 401K and the lump sum. I get retiree health care. I worked all the OT I wanted as an outside tech and basically wrote my own check.

Cons...They hate us. Micromanage. Most managers know nothing about the job. The companies main goal is to have everyone on some step of discipline as they manage through fear. They'd rather employees got hit by a bus than get to retirement qualifications.

Oh...one more Pro....anyone with a modicum of intelligence can use their myriad of rules and edicts and mandates to increase their checks by 30-40% easily. And the entry level managers (1st lines) will TY for it.

Pro: Maximum flexibility, so long as I can get work done on time. I need this support my family's medical/mental care.

Con: Dysfunctional management. Apparently Stankey is getting a huge pay raise, so in reality, there is no problems, nothing to see here.

con: stress along with poss layoffs, upper management doesn't appear to know what they are doing

pro: health care cost appear to be lower

If you are being offered a position, ask for more money to start

one note: if you're a Director or above, they look after you like a Democrat run government.

I agree with this one stated above. I'm sure though, it doesn't apply to all jobs at T but does apply to many:
Pros: Salary. Few current technology skills needed. Easy work.

Cons: job security!! Layoffs, outsourcing are common. You can't count on this job past each day.

Pros: Salary. Few current technology skills needed. Easy work.

Cons: Lack of recognition of T on a resume. Unable to tell people you meet where you work due to T’s horrible reputation and customer service.
