New Career path coming… demotions for everyone

HR is busy working to “modernize” our unified career path. Titles will change to ensure senior people are now pushed to lower bands so they can avoid raises and pull MIP.
It is necessary because some skill sets have doubled in value and that money has to taken from other areas.
Get ready for the wave of generic titles designed to make you less able to get jobs at competition.
just more busy work for useless corporate roles trying to make Charlotte look like it is accomplishing something.

Just another brick in the wall to justify DA's obscene paycheck while f#$ing over the people that do real work. That's why I'm leaving. A huge jump in pay and a better work environment. Get away from this tar pit trap company. Your health and overall quality of life will improve vastly and immediately.

All part of harmonising the roles to other SBG with the intention that when the slash happens, it will remove a whole group like Principal Engineers, Staff Engineers and others like it. Its a good and bad thing rolled into one but if its Honeywell its most definitely for all the wrong reasons as HR gets out their sharpening knives.
Lessons learnt from the last major RIF in 2020 was that the heads that were let roll were actually critical to the business continuity so the next time round, they'd be smarter. Probably when the shares keeps getting a beating south will there be recommendations for more cost cutting measures to appease our shareholders residing in Wall Street

Games games games. Why do they always resort to the games? It's cheaper then paying you. Its harder for you to leave. It's easier to keep you down.

I left or they canned me during the Rona purge. Got my severance. Got new job that paid 25% more and doubled dipped for 6 months.

New job has real benefits and appreciative leadership.

It has become an upside down pyramid, top heavy with sr dir, lot of vp... most are now sr dir at band 5. Band 5 and up have a totally different incentive plan
At this rate, will have more paper pushers than people doing real work, us.

I predict (hope?) it will be the massive number of new directors that gets the hair trimming this time. Buying water for the break area requires review by a director or above. TONS of "directors" with no director reports .. wtf?

Again? Lost my bonus in the last mass demotion. 10% pay cut with not so much as a “sorry”. I’m done.

I previously was a senior engineer and then Honeywell changed me to an advanced engineer. Now I have to apply to become a senior advanced engineer. Sc--w that. I'm out of here. To have to apply for the next position is ludicrous. Can I apply to be a VP or director? I think not. I keep my mouth clean.

OP: It may seem new to you but it's not a new leadership tactic at Honeywell. It's been going on for years in Aero. There has been hundreds of engineers changed from band 4 to band 3 and lose the MIP bonus.

Yep, they did that in 2017. Had a nice title, and they changed it to something not much better sounding than senior janitor.

They do this every few years.
Probably page 6 of the retention "playbook" powerpoint provided by mckenzie.
(Created by an intern reading cliff note summaries of business books online).

Staffs became principals... except now there are staff folks again.
Managers became senior mgrs.
Change for sake of change designed to make employees subserviant and fearful.

So Honeywell... dont do it. Stop now and choose to be better.

They already did this a couple of years ago. So what’s new…
