Gail is running this company down to the ground. She has gotten rid of all the great talented hard workers and replaced them with complete incompetent id--ts. She replaced majority of her direct reports with new people that know nothing about health insurance. For Marketing she hired a guy from NIKE. What does NIKE have to do with healthcare!?!. She hired another guy from a financial finance company and the guy literally said “wow, never knew how healthcare worked this whole time, this is intriguing” and all others she is hiring vendors offshore from 3rd world countries. Now you know why she has millions and this company will be nothing by the time she leaves and that’s her exact plan. She’s cashing out as we speak. What a smart cut throat CEO.

I have never seen more incompetent leadership than what we currently have in place. I have to laugh otherwise I'd go insane at how absolutely useless my manager, her manager, and every other manager/director within my department is. My manager somehow micromanages everything my team does to the point of making us copy her on any email we send (even though she doesn't read them) while simultaneously not offering any useful guidance in the year I've been with the team. Gail has ruined this company at the expense of employees and members but god forbid she not make her millions. This company is a joke.

It's a race to the bottom for this company. It's a layoff machine. Expect more RIFs in May.

I think another RIF is on the horizon soon, people are being asked to list everything they do and the amount of time it takes... the hallmark of a RIF in planning.

Prior to 2012 anthem was a great company to work for. Angela Braley was the CEO and she cared about the employees not just the revenue. After 2012 it really did become a sh-t show. I got let go last year, after many many years of dedicated employment, RIF. Yet I am constantly seeing how anthem is hiring and how it's such a great company. They ship everything offshore and all they care about is money or rather how much they can save by sending it offshore, way more than the employees and members. It's pathetic and whoever said Gail needs to go in an earlier post is absolutely right!! It's a billion dollar company! Do better for the Americans that work there.

March 6th message from Bye Felicia and Pete - Leadership is an action, not a position.

IOW - Make sure you do exactly as we say until you're RIF'd.

As always, thank you for living our Values.

It would be fantastic if they valued their employees as they claim.

How are they saying during the town hall that Financials are good but giving out 1-3% raises?

I was Reorged on the 2/9 RIF. It’s been almost a month and we are told “business as usual”, last week they wanted to know what we do and provide a list of what we work on. Have pretty much told us they don’t know what to do with us. Guessing they are going to RIF us as soon as they figure out how to divvy/eliminate our workflows.

RIF to commence during the second quarter of the year. Just FYI. Target markets, those that had acquired or about to acquire another plan. The safest place to be is overseas. The organization budgeted for 3 cuts this year. None at the enterprise level! Those that were impacted by the re-org and were made individual constributors ar the highest risk possible. The alpha numeric roster to be shared with department heads no later than 3rd week of March!

National Employee Appreciation Day and dear leader puts out a company wide email telling everyone how she appreciates everyones contribution, while not giving full bonuses and mandating certain people/teams back in the office ASAP.

She talks out both sides of her mouth so much her ears must ache.

On going commitment to get people to quit. Positions that were always remote being forced back to office with one week notice. But not the equivalent carelon position. Conveniently before they have discussed the annual bonus with anyone.

"Now Gail needs to follow Bill out the door." Amen to that. Not only was Bill Beck terrible at his job, but the turnover and disfunction in his department was a direct result of his toxic, unaccountable personality and inability to lead. Gail rewards this in her leaders, and the Board lets her get away with it. They are all out of touch Boomers running a playbook that's decades old. Time to put her and her cronies out to pasture and let some of the new leaders step up.

My name is Rachel Dalloo, I’m a reporter with Health Payer Specialist at the Financial Times. I am reaching out because I came across one of the messages on this thread stating that Bill Beck, Elevance’s Chief Marketing Officer has or will be departing from the company. I am hoping to get more info on this and to touch base on how I can locate the memo that stated this information.

You can best reach me if you are available to talk at rdalloo@money-media.com and I am available via cell at 646-392-5066.

Thank You.

Recently, leaders of certain segments of the company are being told not give out 100% of AIP (bonus), instead only distribute 98%. What is going on?? Company issues money to leaders to divide amongst employees, then they are told not to give out the full 100% of the budget. Now, after all the ratings and evaluations are submitted, leaders are being told distribution of bonus will be changed. Who does this? Something is not right. Something is going on.

Currently with carelon, if it’s not that 1 of the managers mentioned medical side was doing layoffs we wouldn’t even know it was happening

Gail announced today that Bill Beck, Elevance Chief Marketing Officer, is departing the company. Indisputably the worst culture builder the company has ever had leading marketing. The man's sole "achievement" was spending hundreds of millions on an unnecessary rebranding effort that distracted the entire enterprise while simultaneously creating a revolving door of talent in the marketing shop. Bill placed higher value on hiring from outside than on supporting and developing talent within. His departure is one of the best things to happen to the company in years. Now Gail needs to follow Bill out the door.

I was a part of the most recent layoff in the Tennessee Medicaid market. This is the third round that has affected our market. My team got cut in half the first time, so I hoped that we would be done. I was told that I was being laid off based on title alone, despite earning an exceeds expectations for my 2023 performance. Truly no one is safe, and if you have the option to leave you should leave now.

@aRchw+1fGCV4et. Yes there will be an additional round or rounds. Per John Gallina "Resource optimization will occur throughout 2024". If only they could be as transparent with us as associates as they are with the people who matter the most to them, the investors.

!!!!!!!!MORE layoffs Today!!!!!!!!
CEO and Execs need to increase and secure their AIPs and stock.
This has been the longest nonstop lay offs Anthem has ever had. Pretty soon Anthem will be known as an overseas company. Members and providers Beware!

Does anyone have any insight to why we are getting 2 “Wellness days” in 2024? It seems odd having been with the company for 20 years. Yes, 20 years.

I have been chronically ill since returning to the office and wondering if others have been dealing with the same. I am wondering if people have been complaining about getting sick from going into the office, and they’re like “Let’s give them some Wellness days, so we don’t look bad, but we sure ain’t going to stop Hybrid for the sake of employees’ health!

Now that lay offs “apparently” seem to be over. No one has post anything in awhile. Amazing how quickly everyone no longer comes together……maybe thats the real problem. Food for thought…..

Some associates that got laid off recently, their last day was December 1st. Last 6 years the company’s moral compass was flushed down the drain.

I was told less than 30 days ahead of time. This was not enough time to prepare for such a life change. 90 days would've been better. Still haven't received the so- called severance. This is horrible... especially around the holidays.
